In Regards to the VA Pet Peeves "War"

I would first like to start off by informing all who participated that I truly am sorry for what I started. I read a critique, deemed it unfair that someone other than the producer had done what I percieved as "bashing" all who were in the production except for him/herself, and decided to call said person out about it, not realizing that many people would jump on me for it. My boyfriend retaliated on my behalf, and the rest is now, as I imagine, VAA history. Let me just paint a mental picture here as to why my boyfriend would do somthing like this: Think Peter and Lois from Family Guy. I defended him, got attacked, and he defended me. However, there were some who felt that he put me up to it because of a critique that he did not, in fact, read, merely posted after. This is not true. I spoke my mind about something I percieved as unfair, and that's really what the whole thing was about: perception.
I would like to say that I am stunned by the immaturity and the hurtful things said by him and others in the posts, the minced words, the editing of sentences, and what have you, but I am glad that everyone seems to have made nice.
I'd also like to apologize to Haushinka, for spelling her name wrong in my post. I'm a bit dyslexic sometimes and letters sometimes move themselves around in my brain ;

I guess I would like to finish by apologizing again for starting something like that. It was never my intention to be hurtful. I'd also like to ask you to not blame my boyfriend for what I started. Despite what some say and what he himself often thinks, he works hard on every voice acting project he takes on. The only reason for him maybe turning in lines or auditions at the last minute is merely because he can do his best in a short amount of time, even if it takes him a few tries. His ability to just press "Record" and crack off several different voices has even astounded the creator of a Flash he participates in. He's never had much self-esteem, and when the Flash he's in got front page on NewGrounds, he was so proud--I just want to see that look on his face again.

The reason I got on here to apologize, I suppose, is because he has decided he doesn't want to voice act anymore after all of this, which is, if you'll pardon my language, a goddamned shame. He really is a good guy and a terrific voice actor, and for him to up and quit isn't fair. Please, I implore you all, don't hold it against him, and if and when he auditions for something again, don't let the "war" come to your mind first. I ask you to be as objective as any other time before all of this mess started.

Again, I apologize, and wish all of the VAA a good day.

What happened isn't uncommon and it won't ever 'NOT' happen again. Just have to grow thick skin, unfortuantely. . .that's a LIFE tool to have. Everyone needs to have it to make it through pretty much anything ._.;. I didn't enter myself said 'issue,' but I did read all that went on as it was happpening. I can't really give words of encouragement simply because he said that he did all this for fun. Because if anything, it's just him giving up a hobby. If he was really looking to improve and be a pro one day, then I would've had more to say. Ultimately, it was just an experience for everyone and perhaps it has opened some eyes. But if anything, the VAA isn't the ONLY place to voice act. Giving up voicing acting just because of this ONE community isn't the way to handle it. I wish you two the best none the less.

I applaud you, darling. Most people would probably think "Oh, just drop it", but I find it awesome that you stood up and wrote this for everyone. <~This is spoken from experience from another thing, which need not delving into. I don't want you experiencing the same anger I did when I tried to apologise and someone said "Oh, just drop it." Rather frustrating. =_= MOVING ON!!!

I award you brownie points, hun.


And no grudges held. Eventually. Still a little annoyed. I'll get over it. (Which is SAYING something, coming from me. I'm kinda known for holding grudges....a personality trait I'm desperately trying to rid myself of.) But I'm already down to a dull simmer, it'll be gone in a few hours, I presume.


But I digress! I leave you with a quote a friend told me once: "Never let other people stop you from doing what you love." ::Mutter.:: I'm not letting PEOPLE stop me, but the Acid Reflux sure holds ya back....

Thank you both so much for the words of encouragement. I just really don't want there to be any bad blood around here, and I do realize that the whole thing was started because of some silly, angry little remark I made almost in passing. I do apologize again to everyone involved who felt angry or insulted and to all those not involved, as well, for having to sit through it and wait the whole thing out. Gomen, gomen, gomen nasai.

This sort of thing is a very common occurence on the VAA--don't worry, it's the very rare person that holds a grudge on these boards, so you and your boyfriend really have nothing to worry about! As long as you try to work past your differences with everyone, everyone will usually play along nicely!

In an environment such as this one, people can't afford to hold grudges like that too often, or they will be limited in their potential to grow. I think the majority of people involved in that exchange are intelligent people, so they know better than to waste time holding grudges. <3

So let's just consider this all water under the bridge--or I might have to set a few more people straight! >D
