all this interest makes me really happy =D thanks guys!

cakebatter: thanks =) i was thinking of trying incorporate some elements of the "real" VAA, but the characters' names would stay the same. the main character, i'm debating about keeping their name or changing it to whoever gets casted. i have a really basic character list, and changing that name wouldn't be too much trouble.

merodi: yeah, your newbie guidelines are a lot better than mine. thanks! would you mind if it's possibly used for the auditions? that's a good point too. they could also be possibly cast extras, but yeah, not everyone will be cast. thanks for the help! i really appreciate it =D

I freaked out when I saw the guidelines then I relized 'wait you idiot you've never been casted as a main character just small stuff like fangirls'

A lot of people brought up valid points, and I think it could be a great idea! Several people have often done fandubbing or radio drama projects with the explicit purpose to search out new talent (which is actually how I got started here).

The only thing that I would also keep in mind though is that sometimes it's wise to have at least one or two veterans on board--if anything, to draw a bigger listenership. I can speak for myself that if certain voice actors (Masako, Lucien, Haushinka, Laura Post, for example) are in a piece, I am all the more likely to listen to it in spite of my involvement. That way you can get that much closer to what I at least seem to understand as your intention--to allow newbies greater exposure.

I may be all wet on this, but it's something to at least think about, from a PR perspective.

I disagree with this just slightly. I know that kind of thinking is very common around here, which is disappointing, but if you're only listening to other productions that you're not involved with just because a "veteran" is apart of it, then that's kind of silly, honestly.

If the radioplay is well written and has an appealing story, then I'll most definitely listen to it. If it's just a story written so people will become noticed without anything substantial to it, then it's not going to appeal, no matter who voice acts in it.

I do think this is a great idea, and I hope they have a great story to work with! Good luck!

Sounds like a pretty cool idea. I'm still a newbie...as I barely have done anything yet (haven't been around for awhile actually). I'd audition straight away if this idea kicked into gear. This could help a lot of us.

That sounds so great! Would you have it so, for the audition, they'd have to answer some interview questions to get their personalities across? If so, I think that be really cool and interactive and it would allow some of the veterans around here to see the newbies' personalities and voice strengths. Honestly I would love to help you out in anyway I can, so if you need any help with the script or mixing, just give me a PM!

My opinion wasn't really an absolute one, just suggestion in order to further the chances of more people listening. I daresay you are more the exception to the rule (and one of the reasons I find you utterly faboo~) and I only threw that in for something to think about and the entire "err on the side of caution" approach.

In my usual PR situations--and for marketing in general, I try to have all my bases covered in order to assure a success, which is why I was simply bringing in another viewpoint.

I getchya. And it's true that people like to hear "veterans", though in this case I think it would be fun to hear all new people because we already know what "veterans" sound like. Though, I know I'm an exception, people are sadly more attracted to the voice actors they are familiar with instead of just the story.

I kind of see this radioplay being the exception, though, making everyone take notice of just the newbies.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to see a veteran or two, though.

I say 'though' way too many times. >_>

Sounds like a great idea. If/when enough people are on-board, and a script is drawn up, I would love to help with the mixing.
