I've been trying to piece together a good demo reel, but for now I'm just throwing stuff together for practice. I'm trying to get an idea of what works and what needs more practice. My most recent idea was to try doing lines in Japanese to see if I could do it. My Japanese pronunciation still isn't top of the class material though.
Here it is!
Voice One
"Omatase! Uchi Kyatto datcha!"
(Sorry to keep you waiting! I'm Kat!)
Originally this was a Lum (Urusei Yatsura) line, but I stuck my name in there. It worked as an opening. Since this was such cutesy language, I tried using a "cute voice." Yeah, I don't like my cute voice yet. It's not very cute. Like, at all.
Voice Two
"Sonna koto, ki ni shinai de"
(Please don't worry about that sort of thing.)
I wanted this to sound kind of like a villain. Is it terrible I actually liked how I read this line? And on the first try too. It'll probably be the one everyone goes "That was the worst one!" Well, I love me at least. I'll always be your biggest fan, me!
Voice Three
"Daijoubu yo, Hikaru"
(I'm all right, Hikaru)
Self-explanatory. I just wanted this to be... "normal" voice-ish. I didn't spend any time doing this one. If I ever make a demo reel, this would probably be cut.
Voice Four
"Ayamaranai to, watakushi... okoru wa yo..."
(If you do not apologize... I shall be angry)
This line is very subdued for being angry. This is a Oyuki from Urusei Yatsura line. She rarely lets her emotions get too strong, despite what she's feeling inside. I was trying (and failed) to make this line somewhat aggressive, but in a mild sense. I gave up eventually.
In hindsight, I should have spent more time on these. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. I also picked random lines from shows I haven't see in ages or haven't seen at all. I didn't want to just copy pasta my attempts or sit around comparing my voice to theirs. Anyway, hoping for feedback! Sorry for being so wordy.

I'll keep all that in mind.
