    Hi everyone,

How can one seperate the characters' voices from background music/sound effects? I am dubbing a scene in which my character is giving a monologue, and all throughout it there is a melody playing. Is there a software that can differentiate and seperate the two? Obviously, I need to take the voice out and replace it with my own, while keeping the music intact.

I tried to reference Azure's tutorial, but it didn't help me...

    Thank you for your help!

    Sincerely,

    Olivia

Not really possible. This question has been asked countless times before, so please search next time. ^^

Usually, when dubbing, a producer starts from scratch, adding SFX, music tracks, then vocals (or in any order really). Look through tutorials and see if that helps any. If not, please message me.

    Good luck! <3

    Oh, wow... I'm shocked.

What would you suggest for one to do with a clip like this? This is the clip that I am going to be dubbing. I have absolutely no idea where I could find that music - it sounds like an original piece.

Unforunately youtube videos are encoded in mono, so vocal cancellation doesn't work. Also the BGM seems to be a new track not from the original FFT. So the only thing you can do is compose it or get the original stereo audio track and try the vocal cancellation method. Or wait for the official OST to be released

Well when I can't find the piece of music thats in the original, I usually pic music that either sounds similer to it or just any type of song that fits the screen. (IE instead of a fighting type of music in my fandub, I changed it with battle music from the Tales of series)

Please give it more than 58 minutes before saying that no one is helping you fast enough. Unfortunately, people on the board are not viewing this particular section all the time, or they're just busy doing other things. Please have more patience.

As for removing the vocals.. there are quite a few threads on how to remove vocals from audio tracks - Feel free to browse around the Tutorials/Tips from the VAA! sections and don't forget about the search feature. Though, if you've tried out the tutorials that you've found, and they don't work, there's nothing that can be done to do what you want.

For background music I always use this site. It gives all anime series (to my knowlegde) so you should find what you're looking for here
