    When a producer makes like about 869326 audition threads, for parodies or whatever, and they ignore all 869326 of them. And then they come back like a year later saying "THIS PROJECT IS NOT DEAD OMG!11 T_T;;;" When clearly, it is because that "producer" has gone off making another 86398 threads...which she/he never completed or even started.

Seriously, if you're going to go WAY over the deadline, how about keep me up to date on your progress?
    I hate that too. It be much nicer if they actually tell you how things are going instead of you having to go and bug them alot (which I personally hate doing, makes me feel like I'm being annoying)

    Ditto! If they would keep me updated, i wouldnt have to bug them a lot and wouldn't feel like I'm always being annoying, rude or something. Which is why i HATE doing it.

    Yes, yes! I hate that so much, because I feel uber annoying because I send out reminder emails and such.

    I also dislike it when people don't inform you until you tell them they've been recast that they were going to ask you to recast anyways. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT A MONTH OR TWO AGO?

    Sigh .... it's been driven into the ground by now, but honestly what is the point of having a deadline when you're going to pre-cast?

    Not that I'm necessarily worth waiting for, but it's so .... unwholesome.

    Perhaps it's my fault, since this is only a hobby, sweetie, and I don't have that ol' recording studio up and running in the backyard, where I can get auditions done right now (for fear of missing the deadline, lest I wake up and find three weeks have suddenly gone missing!)

    There. I feel better now that I have shared my secret with millions of people whom I will never meet and who won't recognise me on the street and snigger at me.

    I find it extremely rude when someone is reviewing a project and says "You are better than (so-and-so) at playing this character" or "This was good, but I like (so-and-so) better as him/her." It's pretty insulting to other AVAs to hear that someone else is better than them, regardless of whether it's true or not. Just say what needs to be improved about this person's rendition of the character and leave the comparisons out of it.

    I totally agree with you. I saw that in the Cosplay Cafe fandub thread and was appalled at how rude that was ):

    Not to mention that it CERTAINLY doesn't help our self-esteem any... >_> I've been in situations like that when I was auditioning for plays. It was this rude-ass director that NEVER gave out criticism that actually WAS constructive. I have a feeling he got a sadistic pleasure out of knocking us down a few pegs, that is, if there were any pegs left for us to be knocked down. The day he made my friend and costar cry was the day I gave him a shiner and walked out of the production.

    This isn't really related to VAing, but people post in the Travel Log thread like "I'm going to be gone til Friday!" and Friday is, like, tomorrow XD Seriously, some people don't even check the VAA daily, so I don't see why anything under four days has to go there o_O It's not really a pet peeve. It's just one of those things that makes me go "why?" XD I don't even post there anymore, I just e-mail my producers when I'm leaving. Even then, it's only when I'm going to be gone over the deadline and won't be able to finish the lines before I leave >__>;;

    Yeah, I agree with you guys. I do appreciate honesty though, cause in this sort of stuff I can't afford to have reviews sugar coated. But there is a line between criticism and just out right insults.

    We're already putting ourselves online for thousands to hear, it's a lot of pressure as is trying to sound good. If I suck or didn't do so hot in a certain role, tell me, but in a constructive way!!
