VA Pet Peeves

Peeve: People directing casting themselves or pre-casting roles in an audition, mainly the main roles.

I'm not talking about out of nessesity, but it feels like someone is just making the show around themselves, and everyone else is there for THEM.

This isn't always the case, but still.

I can understand how this would be a bit annoying, but you don't have to audition for said projects.

Though the way I see it... it's really not that big a deal because hey... at least they're being up front about what they want to do, unlike those people who hold auditions for a character, and cast themselves anyway (I can understand if nobody was good enough, though.)

Pet peeve: The after recording moments: When I have to clean up my audio. Such a pain. T.T

Out of context this is outstanding.

Pet Peeve: Forgetting Skype can alter your computer's audio setup and lower my mic volume obnoxiously. Then editing lines afterward I spend days confused as to what happened until my MOTHER who knows nothing about recording or computers suggests what might have happened...and is correct.

I'll accept my "Best Guy Ever" trophy at any convenient time.

Wanting so bad to record lines, your in the perfect mood and there isn't much noise. You get all set up and what happens?

....T-T then you find out it's not a cold, you just have random junk in your throat that is ruining your life.

• When your voice cracks while recording a line. Especially when the take is coming out well.
• Getting tounge tied on the simpilest of words.... repeatedly.
• Mouth noises (smacking and clicking).
• Wondering if your acting has gotten better or is of any good at all.

Bad scheduling. And when people decide not to go to the event that was supposed to keep them occupied for a few hours, defeating the purpose of finding time to record.

It's not a peeve, but moreso a sad moment...

A HUGE project you've been looking forward to working on gets a big enough budget to consider name talent, enough to turnover a talented someone who've been working on the project for years...
