Hey! It's finally done! Wow, this is turning into a really intense episode to fandub. Actually, I think it may be Host Club in general that's impossible to find SFX for. I mean really impossible. As in I can't believe I faked my through it. ^_^

A big shoutout to Mari-chan who got me a boatload of sound effects and beta watched this for me... three times.

I would also like to commend Shintarou Inuzuka who took on the insane task of two main roles and did them both wonderfully.

And a big shout out to everybody in the cast! You are all absolutely wonderful and did a fantasic job! *major glompage*

The whole duet thing was really interesting. I had fun recording this and listening to part one!

@ shintarou - XDDDDD too damn cute haha especially when he ran back the stairs with an "AAAAH" xD
made a good hikaru too.

@ Jaela - really cute. at the first sound hunny made I thought it was the original o_O

@ Harhuhi - just awesome. you sounded really poor and half dead at the beginning in Tamaki's dream. You really make a good Haruhi and you talk so natural I really love it. Hurray for the annoyed sound you make when haruhi finds out the gang hanging out for her door.

@ the landlady Shika - I had fun listening to that haha really nice "HO HO HO!" laughs XD

The opening was cool - had to get used to it being a duet at first but nonetheless, it was cool. Timing was a bit off in the mixing.

Uh okay that was what I wanted to say lol I know I didnt say something about everyone but the voices of the people I just noted just got my attention the most.

I really should hold off reviewing until the rest is out, but I can't resist. X3

Sakura Kiss: changeofheart, Shika Megumi: Fabulous, girls. So much energy, which is always what this song needs. One of you had some mic quality issues... not sure which.
Tamaki: Shintarou Inuzuka: Shinta, I love you, and I think you're very talented, but I just don't think this voice suits Tamaki. Especially when he's "charming" the landlady, you need a deeper, more sexy/romantic voice instead of your more comical, cheerful one. That said, I think that voice will be PERFECT for Tamaki's freak-outs later in the episode. I'll be looking forward to it. <3
Hunny: Jaela: I'm afraid I sound too feminine, but I might just be being paranoid.
Kaoru: SiriusFan17: O.O You sound like a man. Holy crap. Good job.
Hikaru: Shintarou Inuzuka: I like you as Hikaru. I can't wait to hear you getting into his careless and brash attitude later. I also like how Hikaru and Kaoru don't sound too much alike. ^____^
Haruhi: Sachibelle: You're a great Haruhi. You sound like Sakamotou Maaya. I love your really angry line... it scared me a little. in a good way.
Shima: ElsaHZT: Not many VAs here can pull off a convincing old woman, so you are one of the few and proud. Right up there with fruitfly as one of the best I've heard.
Butler: PhaeThorn: No complaints.
Girl 1: Mitsukaii: cute.
Girl 2: YingFaStar: also cute.
Man 1: muscles42 (little brother): Good ^.^
Kyouya: geist_seig: I... couldn't hear you half of the time you were talking. I think you should be a little louder and more confident with your voice, not just in this role, but in general. It might help to shoo others out of the vicinity if you're nervous about disrupting other people while VAing. My point is, I'd like to be able to hear your voice better, 'cause it's gorgeous. *-*

Landlady: Shika Megumi: Very well done! I didn't recognize your voice at all.

Mixing: It was pretty good. Because of that, I'm going to be picky. i think you really have the potential to go above and beyond, Sirius, by beginning to pay attention to little details... one example is that when Shima is walking away from the "camera," you might give her voice a gradual fade to make it seem more real. I think you could be one of the best fandubbers out there one of these days, and it's the little things that will get you there. Good luck!

yay! Glad to see part of it out. I think I'll save my thoughts till the rest of it, but so far it was good.

Wow...this could have been better.

Sakura Kiss: A duet was an interesting touch, but it didn't really work out for you. This is a VERY difficult song to sing, and so every time it's a little different- you can hear that between the singers' voices. Also, the words were being pronounced differently by the singers, which doesn't help either. (The voices didn't blend well together). Shika Megumi, you in particular, I am a great fan of yours but you should work on your prnounciation of the language if you intend to sing often in Japanese. I noticed you prnouncing things in a very English accent, which personally, irks me. A's are almost always pronounced ah, e's eh, o's oh, u's oo, i's ee, t's on teh back of the teeth and roof of mouth, r's halfway between an r and l either on the back of teeth and roof of mouth or the centre of the roof of the mouth. It's really just a matter of observation and practice...difficult to explain @___@;;

Tamaki: Not a voice I would have chosen for Tamaki- you have too high a voice, and you sound like you would be better off voicing a sillier American cartoon cahracter or a young teenager (aroung 13/14 not 17/1. Tamaki Suou is a ladies' man from top to bottom, inside and out. His voice should be played very smoothly when he's "romancing" women (e.g. the landlady scene), which I didn't see happening. Tamaki's a very emotional character, making him difficult to predict vocal wise. Sometimes squeaking out a higher pitch doesn't communicate an emotion such as his overdramatic "How can I THINK about food..." as well as maybe a growling murmur or a throaty voice- play around with things : ) I found you lacked emotion on the more emotionally lacking lines (ahaaa... -_-;; ) such as when he's talking to teh servants- you still have to stay in character, even when the character's being unemotional.

Hunny: Your crying line maybe could have been a bit louder and more heartfelt, but you were overall pretty good.

Kaoru: For a female voicing a male, it was pretty good. I really can't complain for your performance. I'm just curious as to why the twins always seem to be voiced by girls or a girl??

Hikaru: You know, your voice may have really fit Kaoru well, but Hiakru, especially with the weird nasally tone to it, it did not go too well with. Hikaru's the rougher and elder of the twins... giving him stereotypically a rougher and deeper voice than the more effeminate Kaoru. Well, your voice was still rougher actually, because of Kaoru being voiced by a female, so Sirius fan's voice complimented yours quite well int aht way...and I know the nasally sound was just to distinguish from your Tamaki, so that complaint's out the window. But I would really like to see you try your hand..e.r, voice...at Kaoru sometime.

Haruhi: Some pretty great emotion and a good voice for Haruhi. I like you in this role ^ ^

Shima: You don't sound quite like an old lady, but you're close enough XD Good job, nice old lady esqe emotions, haha!

Butler: Uhm...good....job?

Girl 1: Cute, but concise D:

Girl 2: Yingeh!

Man 1: 1 line...still VERY lacking in emotion. "What's with this." is a question. You say it as a statement. You should remember that every voice in a production counts towards it's overall quality- smallest characters included! So be entheusiastic in your small roles, and your big roles will be even better ^ ^

Kyoya: I'm not going to lie. I didn't enjoy your performance at all. Your voice is fine, I just felt you were doing something weird to it to make it sound...weird. Un kyoya-esque. (Actually I found all of the male leads in this dub had voices much higher than what usually suit them). You had the smooth coolness down, but the confidence wasn't there. Also, the "oh, dear" sounds rather distant and sincere, whereas Kyoya would most likely be silently laughing at mi'lord's situation : ) Your annunciation was lacking, too, so remember those vocal warmups! The tip of the tongue and the teeth and teh lips, hot coffee in a proper copper coffee pot, a big black bug bit a big black bear and the big black bear bled blue black blood, maybe my mommy may go to miami and maybe my mommy may not, red leather yellow leather!

Little boy: You were bery good! : ) A bit girlish, but pah. Little boys sound girly, anyway.

Landlady: Shika knows I love her, haha! You don't quite sound in your 40's but that's cause you're in your teens. It can be forgiven, cause you're awesome. Yes.

Mixing: Great quality of mixing, hjard to nitpick : D

Aaaand...that's my critique (phew! This is why I only crit once in a while!)
Overall I'd give this a 5/10. Barely a pass, but a pass. Keep working on it, shuffle some things, and you guys could do this scene quite well indeed.

I'm just curious as to why the twins always seem to be voiced by girls or a girl??

I've been giving that some thought and I think (although it's just specuation) that it may have something to do with the fact that there always seems to be trouble when it comes to getting enough guys to audition, especially when there are so many male roles. So the twins will often be casted to girls because, next to Hunny, they are the only members of the Host Club who could get away with it.

Just throwing that out there, although, I'm not entirely sure if it made sense...

Little boy: You were bery good! : ) A bit girlish, but pah. Little boys sound girly, anyway.

Haha. I find that kind of funny considering liversnaps is a boy and that's his normal speaking voice. ^_^ Just wait till I tell him. It'll be great.

Mori is pretty feminine D: !

The mixing was really good so far! I'll be sure to write up a full critique on the voices later, although I agree with everything sakura-shino has said.

Sakura Kiss:
changeofheart - I really liked your vibrato! It was so pretty. I really don't have many complaints about you :3
Shika Megumi - With the pronunciation, I felt at sometimes, especially at "oos" and etc. it sounded like your mouth was too pinched together (?), or not open enough - like it was almost closed? (like around 35-ish seconds when you say "suki ni natte ku" the ku sounds like you closed your mouth a bit). As the song progressed on, you seemed to have more trouble with the pitches, it got slightly flatter as you went on. I think it was maybe because you were tired or somethig? I suggest maybe you take a break in between the high notes so you can recover a bit before you sing it out.
Overall - It may just be because I'm so used to listening to Shika's voice, but Shika seemed to be louder than changeofheart when they were singing together.

Tamaki: Shintarou Inuzuka - The voice was too high and young to convey Tamaki. If you'd been playing some "average old teenager" the voice and emotion would be pretty good, but not fitting for Tamaki. It almost was like you weren't familiar with the character, or didn't reference his character enough. Tamaki's voice is very smooth, but he can still be hyper, phsychotic and sad while keeping that smooth touch.

Hunny: Jaela - I have to say you were my favorite performance! Character, emotion, and voice were awesome!

Kaoru: SiriusFan17 - Your performance really surprised me! Very well done for a girl!

Hikaru: Shintarou Inuzuka - The nasally tone you added to his voice really bothered me, especially since Hikaru is the "older and manlier" of the twins. I think you added the nasalliness so you could distinct from your Tamaki voice? (which was done well) Perhaps you could've added a different distinctness without loosing the character.

Haruhi: Sachibelle - I love you ;___; !

Shima: ElsaHZT - Very old lady-like, the emotion and character were well. I'd just aim for aging the voice more.

Butler: PhaeThorn; Girl 1: Mitsukaii; Landlady: Shika Megumi; Little boy: liversnaps - No complaints!

Man 1: muscles42 - Sounded very monotone.

Kyouya: geist_seig - It was almost like you were pressing the "coolness" in his voice so much it almost went monotone (IMO.) The voice kinda sounded too "husky" to be Kyouya, but I can still sense some Kyouya-ness beneath it.

Just a side comment: I should REALLY have watched the episode before I recorded the first half of my lines; many of Tamaki's lines don't have the correct emotion (not to mention timing issues) since I didn't see the episode until I started recording part 2.
