AAC to MP3 conversion

Is there a way to covert my audio recordings that I do in Mac (which are files that end with .aac) to mp3 files?

I've searched in google and there are programs out there that do this. Is there a program that is built-in to my Mac which do this conversion?

iTunes should be able to easily do this. Just go into the preferences, and under advanced, importing tabs, choose the mp3 encoder. Then just right click (or whatever keyboard button it is on the mac) and convert.
