Hola. I'm gonna get formal on you guys and use this title Nikkita slapped onto me a while back.
As "Creative Control" I'm responsible for everything related to the graphics stuff and making sure it looks snazzy and the likes. I need one or two people to support me on working on VAA related designs, because we will be renewing our articles by adding an actual article system to the site. It will no longer be just a forum-based community, but we will have an actual...wait for it...website.
Outside of the community, all the articles compiled will turn the VAA into an online magazine and magazines have to look snazzy!
Graphic designers
For our upcoming article system, I need people who are proficient in HTML/CSS, and know how to make things look very pretty in Photoshop (or whatever program you use to make pretty graphics. As long as it isn't PAINT. Sheesh.) To give you an idea of what our feature articles could look like, check out this article at CGsociety.org, one of the most popular communities for graphic designers and CG artists.
You'll be helping out with designing all kinds of articles, ranging from interviews, tutorials and other articles that the staff picks out as "hot items" to be featured.
Besides the articles, there are plenty of other graphic needs at the VAA as we're developing the website, ranging from layouts for the VAA subsections, to complimentary images for the regular articles, etc.
In your application for the graphic design, I'll need the following information from you:
-experience with graphic design and making layouts
-your strengths/skills
-samples of your design work.
-suggestions and anything else you'd like to mention

About the Creative Control staff
The Creative Control crew takes care of the look and feel of the VAA, For both the site and any possible offline media. Don't expect this to be a fulltime job, but you can count on me to get on your ass when I've given you an assignment with a deadlineThe CC crew will also work hand in hand with the programmers so it's nice if you know how to adjust your work for them to work with.
