  1. #1 Microphone advice required
    Hey all. I'm a newbie to this forum and the world of fan-dubbing but it is something that I had aspired to do for a long time, I'm pretty sure I have the voice, but on the technical side, I'm seriously lacking so I'm wondering what kind of microphone I should buy and if you know any good makes. (One thing to bear in mind: I'm not rich^^;

    Any advice of anything technical like programs etc would also be GREATLY appreciated. Thankyou for your time^^

    I would recommend getting a USB microphone from Logitech or Labtek/Labtech/Whatever.

    Mainly because the quality is very good, because it's not soundcard dependant. Not sure how much they cost since I use a professional mic myself and never had the need for one ^^;

    They shouldn't be too expensive, and I remember finding a bunch of them on Ebay when Juliana was looking for them.

    As for recording programs, Audacity, Goldwave are your best bet, and if you're willing to wait or have a good internet speed, Cool Edit/Adobe Audition is what I recommend. Some say Soundforge is awesome as well, but I have yet to find anything Cool Edit can't do.

    If you want Cool Edit, I can hook you up with a copy. PM me if you want it, it's about 20 mb.

    Thanks a lot for the info^^ (By the way, I'm a friend of zero, he says he worked with you at @tnet?)

    I'd love that program by the way, *PMs*

    Labtec mics are about £20 and I also suggest you read the guides and FAQs stickyed to the help area. Most tell you what you need to know.

    And if you're from the US, Labtec USB mics are about $35.
