Hey any one ever heard of mirc?.... Well I have been on it for awhile and have seen many subbing groups, that spit out the anime like it's no bodys business... Well I had an idea... What if there was a Fan Dub group... What if the most talented mixers, actors and more came together and formed a group? We could also get some raw providers, translators, typesetters, sound effect hunters, bittorrent seeders and much more. This way, everyone can help eatchother out, the dubs come out quicker, raws are easy to find etc... Highquality and low quality dubs can be released too... Maybe blue-sama and Azure-sama could open up an irc dub group.... Hmmm well those are my thoughts... Anyone intrested e-mail me sailorneptune1983@yahoo.com also if this post is against board rules I am sorry just let me know and I will rip it down k ^___^

This goes in ideas, although there's nothing stopping people helping each other already.

Irc is actually pretty nifty. It's one of the best ways, I find, of downloading. If you know the commands, Fserves can be used to download OSTs and other such delights. (Which is how I get much of the music I listen to these days >D).

I just had the idea, cause you can find ANYTHING on irc if you look... That means you have unlimited raws and everything if you know where to look. Also if would be good to have an active chatroom where all the people in the fan ddub commiunity could chat and stuff. Another thing most of the translators, typesetters (people that do all the fancy effects on the subtitles), encoders and more only choose to hang out on irc. I know it would be very helpful for the mixers, especailly the busy ones to get some extra help on the things that take too much time. Also it is a good place to share/give files. It would be cool to have a giant group that puts out fandubs, like other groups put out fan subs. Anywho once again anyone that is intrested contact me at the above e-mail... I will help you out with the irc basics...

    Thanks

I'd join in this. Just let me know the IRC address and I'm there.

Ooh, ooh, I shall offer my services in this idea. I actually did this sort of thing in IRC/BT awhile back with KNS's Ep 1 release of Naruto, so I have a slight clue on what is one of the aspects you can expect out of this venture, at least early on.... I shan't give the details here of that aspect, as it's rather lengthy and hard to summarize, but give me a ring whenever you get an IRC channel up or AIM and I'll give you the scoop.
I came and I left and now I'm back again...I seriously need to make up my mind about hobbies!!!

That doesn't really sound like any fun to me :/ I mean, in order to get those things out as quickly as you seem to want to get them out, you'd have to have decent VAers that are available on call 24 hours a day without anything to do but record a bunch of lines, and then you'd need a mixer who's willing to put it all together in a short about of time.

It just seems too...um...industrial. People fandub things for fun, not because there's a desperate need for dubbed anime. The reason why the IRC subtitle groups are so popular is because no one wants to wait to watch the newest anime craze out of Japan.

Ontop of that, you'd probably get more complaints than compliments. It's usually the hardcore anime fans that hang around IRC chats to get there anime the moment it's available and most of those people aren't fond of the high quality company dubbings of their favorite shows. They'll probably be even less kind to whatever faults you make in your dubbing.
