Umm... Yeah. This is my first attempt at karaoke, so if it's possible, I'd like some critiques - I know I'm not very good, and I'd like to get better. So any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Note: The singing is kind of quiet, because my mom was home when I recorded this and she doesn't like to be bothered... And my singing bothers her.

First comment!!! I thought it was lovely, but here's the critique:

Energy! Sadness! The lyrics are about her late band mate! She's sad! You be sad too! I wanna hear EMOTION!!! *stops with the scolding* Not meaning to scare you X3 And about the microphone distance, the volume is only right because you were real close to the mic. Singing quietly but close isn't always gonna work. It worked now because this song has barely any synths. But just be careful, take risks, shut the door, belt it out, wave your arms, close your eyes, EXPRESS!!! *spirit fingers*

Overall you have a sensational voice that just needs to be brought out as far as it can be stretched. Let it allllll out. You can be really sucky at singing but still sound good if you have the energy. But you have the great voice! That plus energy equals a crying and clapping audience. THink about it *pokes your head*

I agree with Kouari_Nokido concerning the energy. =D. You've got the notes, the words, and the beat, you just need to add some of yourself in. ... XD Sounds weird, huh? You've got to put yourself into the song. Think of a character, I guess you could say, and sing from their point of view...? Think of the lyrics and how sad/frustrating it must be. ^^... Energy is a really hard concept to grasp, even though it sounds kind of easy XD;;...
It sounds like you're singing from your head voice the entire time, and in the beginning you're having a hard time getting the notes at the bottom. That may be why you're so quiet. Project your voice. Stand up while you're singing, take good, deep breaths. ^^... Try using your full voice. It'll come out a lot more powerful.
I don't think you had many problems with notes like I said earlier, maybe one or two, but that's all. ^^ Your voice is really nice, just add a little energy
