Why would they need the rights to the ToS characters from just Nintendo? Its also on the PS2 >.> but in Japan only (since the sales were so horrible on the Gamecube they released it again on the PS2 with added features and stuff and an entirely new opening song... wheres our release??). I'm probably just confused XD;;
I REALLY hope thats true >.> I have a PSP and I need more good RPGs for it!! I especially want ToD2 and ToP:FVE to come out on the PSP as well ><

I know about the PS2 version as I own it. America wasn't able to get the rights to the ToS theme song, I believe, so it's very likely that they wouldn't be able to get the rights form Nintendo for the ToS characters for ToW. It's a plausible reason to why the PS2 version of ToS didn't come out as well.Originally Posted by Zankoku no Yami
And generally Tales of games have horrible sales in America since Namco doesn't promote the game at all. So the fanbase isn't as terribly as huge as it could be like saaay.. the FF series which actually has commercials on TV and what not.

I'd have to disagree. The Tales of series used to have horrible sales but it's super popular now. You can't go on any forum without seeing a thread for Tales of, or go to a convention without seeing the cosplay.
It will never be as popular as the FF series. And I'm thankful for that. FF is far overrated and if that would happen to my beloved Tales of, I dunno what'd I do D:
And the more popular it gets, the better! As long as it doesnt become overrated... I just want it to be really popular so that the tales games we would normally never get, would come over here! The Tales of the World series, ToD:Remake, ToD2: PSP, ToP:FVE for PSP... and the newest in the World series!
I really want to form a party of all my favorite Tales characters ;_; the melee team from hell >3

The remakes will never come here. In order for a remake to be in North America for the PSP, it has to have at least 30% new material.
That's why you have import them from the UK.

The Tales series is the only thing that could ever convince me to take the time to learn Japanese. Why Namco? Why don't you release the games with some real advertising? If I remember correctly, despite many Tales fans thinking that Abyss is one of, if not the the best of the Tales series, its sales here were horrid because there was no advertising and it was released with way too many competitors at once. I just hope we get Radiant Mythology since the only two games that haven't been in the US in someway were Rebirth and Destiny 2 (though Nanaly is in Abyss). As much as I want the Destiny Remake, I'm almost completely resolved to the fact that it's not coming here. I WANT MY ENGLISH STAHN VOICE ACTOR WITH MY ENGLISH TALES GAMEPLAY!.. Sorry, rabid fanboyism setting in.
BTW, Heres an Interesting Trivia for you Tales fans
Did you know that the Soundtrack for the Tales of Eternia Anime series was composed by Takanori Arisawa who Did the Japanese Soundtrack to Sailor Moon as well as doing the soundtrack to the japanese versions of Digimon (except Savers)
Too bad he died in 2005 though![]()
"Tales of" games really do deserve more credit. I just recently got into videogames, but Tales of Symphonia is my favorite one. I found the game so very enjoyable, whereas with Kingdom Hearts which I also got close to that time, I wanted to bang my head against something a lot because I would get frustrated and those darn Heartless would just keep coming. I also like the fact that the Gamecube has quick loading time. ^^; (Not to say I don't also like KH, I do. =O)
Symphonia is still my favorite Tales game so far. (Started watching the OVAs.) I just really love the character designs the best in that game. And the characters. (Kratos~ Lloyd~ Collie n' Genis n' Presea~[oh my])
I recently got Tales of the Abyss, but I haven't gotten the chance to play it yet, because my PS2 is at home. ^^;
