Ahh, I see. That type of mic is usually intended more for voice chatting and gaming than Voice Over work. Although if you're against buying a new mic, a pop filter may help. And unless you dropped from a high place, I doubt that could have hurt it too much.

A pop filter is something that you stick in front of your mic to keep huff, puff, "Puh", and pop noises from being recorded. It cleans it up pretty nicely. But if your problem is that the mic is picking up other background noises, then I'm afraid this won't help. You'd need something similar to a porta booth(it's like a mini recording booth) that will shield the mic from any noises other than your voice. The only problem with this is that it's expensive to buy, and a little pricey to make because of the pyramid foam. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm pushing you to buy a mic >.<
