Well, after careful deliberation between Greg and myself, and many hours spent pondering the different possibilities, and the cuts, then more cuts, etc. we've narrowed the stack of entries down to 5 people. These 5 people were chosen because Greg and I wanted a chimera of skills involved in this panel; diversity is key. When it came down to choosing between one person and another, experience is what was the tie-breaker. Submissions will continue to be accepted for alternates should some emergency occur for one of the 5, but, until then, here are our 5 panelists for the Otakon 2006 Amateur Voice Acting Panel!

In alphabetical order (i.e. the order means nothing)

    Kalikan
    Lioncourt
    Lucien
    Matt Alan
    Yoda117

We hope that all of you come and support this years panel. It's gonna be fun!

    EDIT: June 10th
THE PANEL TIME AND DATE HAS BEEN ASSIGNED!
Apparently we did something right last year, because the panel has been given a pretty great time slot and allotment.

    Saturday, 10am--12pm

    BE THERE!

Unfortunatly, there is no way I'll be able to go, but out of curiosity, (since I've never been to any convention or anything like that) what would one do at the Amateur Voiceacting Panel?

I was told I was already signed up for this, but I wanted to double check.

Who told you that? I know I never said anything, and Greg hasn't said anything to me yet....

I'll be there this year. When is the panel going to be held. I might be interested.
If you don't mind me asking, who all is on the panel this year?

Okay, I'm not going to start trouble here, but Kalikan asked me about this yesterday or the day before.

No biggie IMO. Josh did mention something about it back in like December. You're still going to have to go through the process just like me (and frankly I think that we all should... I'm easily willing to give up my seat to make sure that there's a well rounded library of knowledge sitting up on the panel). Knowing your experience, I really doubt there's going to be an issue here.

and if there is, I'll pay for your entrance personally and put an extra seat up there myself (after last year I don't think the staffers there are going to argue with me)

Haha, agreed. And, actually, our "monkey" from the panel is the Panel's Coordinator, and he was anxious to have us back. I will also be submitting myself to the panel. What we will probably do is remove the names, and go over the submissions and decide who is best for the panel. He won't know my entry, and I won't know his. I have added a standardized submission form that will need to be filled out in its entirity. And, there is no set panel yet. So, check out the update! Also not that the submission deadline has been cut to the 15th due to the necessity of turning in the names.

Just thought I'd mention that ADR is not a type of production, it's a method of recording XD but anyway, how do we submit this to you once it's filled out. PM? E-mail? IM?

Me thinks that PM to Kalikan (if that's okay with him) is probably the best method. Ask for a confirmation to make sure that it was received. Go from there

And while ADR is not a type of production, having experience as either a producer, engineer, or actor is useful. I would consider experience (and a copy to use for possible recording) of such things as VocAlign, Fairlight, Pyxis, Wordfit, etc. to be a rather useful thing to have handy on this panel.

I'll have to put together my CV to this thing this weekend...

but on the upside. Mixer got sent off for repair and the submixer is on it's way *does snoopy dance*

duh... *hit's head*. As you saw, I posted that fairly late. And I had gotten up REALLY early, and I was just trying to put everything in there that I wanted in there... not focusing on where. That's pretty dumb on my part, but oh well.
