I didn't even audition for my first role. I was asked to do it.

Since then I get put in the cast immediately after auditioning, or right after the deadline. :-P

When it comes to changing your voice, the answer is simple and obvious:

If the character is a human who has average features and nothing special, obviously you wont need a "changed" voice.
