Just to text to the Czech Republic is a five dollar charge. We found that out the hard way. An acquaintance of ours lives there. Needless to say, we haven't talked to him in a long time.

Ah, a hiker. Very cool. We live on flat land. A few Forest Preserves, but that's about it. However, driving between Chicago and Des Moines, Iowa is an experience all its own. Lots of farmland, some hills that catch you by surprise, and then there's Starved Rock outside of Dubuque. The other thing is you realize just how big the Mississippi River really is.

I was wondering, though, what you do back at home (besides VAing, of course). Here in Chicago, we're very big on sports (American football, baseball, basketball, and despite the rest of the country, soccer).
