This is a joint project helmed by The Kinda Mad and Apatheria. We thought it’d be a fun episode to fandub because of the inside look into the animation business. If this dub is successful enough, we will move on to fandub more Paranoia Agent episodes
Synopsis
PA is a Japanese anime television series created by director Satoshi Kon and produced by Madhouse about a social phenomenon in Musashino, Tokyo caused by a juvenile serial assailant named Lil' Slugger (Shōnen Bat, or Bat Boy in the original Japanese version). The plot relays between a large cast of people affected in some way by the phenomenon; usually Lil' Slugger's victims or the detectives assigned to apprehend him. As each character becomes the focus of the story, details are revealed about their secret lives and the truth about Lil' Slugger.
The 10th episode of Paranoia Agent, entitled, “Mellow Maromi”, is the last of PA’s three filler episodes. At this point in the storyline, the Lil’ Slugger attacks have become uncontained and widespread. This episode centers around an animation studio, which is creating a new anime starring Maromi. Maromi is a character originally designed by Tsukiko, whom the story arc of Paranoia Agent revolves around.
This episode features the various members of the anime studio in question as they try to work through schedule delays and mysterious disappearances and deaths of other studio employees. Maromi pops up in informational segments throughout the episode, explaining each member of your typical anime studio and what their job entails.
