SUBS TO RAW TUTORIAL

 I know. ‘lolwutspade? Subs can’t become raws, fool!’ Well, they can!8D This is a way that I’ve been using for awhile to turn subs into raws without cropping or anything like that. It’s somewhat time-consuming and should be a last resort if you can’t find any raws.

 1] Go download AllToAVI. It's free.

 2] Go get a subbed version of what episode you want. (Note: MUST BE A MKV OR MP4 FILE. NO AVI! It’s not because the program won’t accept them, but AVIs are hardsubbed and the subs can’t be removed.)
3] Open up AllToAVI and click ‘Add File’, then choose the episode you’re going to get a raw from. For this tut I’m going to use Underwater Mahjong’s Saki episode 6.
 4] A notice will come up asking whether you want to switch modes. Click 'NO'.
5] Another screen will pop up with a Mikuru picture. On the Subtitle: section choose ‘-1 No Sub’. Do whatever you want for the other settings then click ‘Add Job’.

(Note: If the quality of the video turns out bad go back to this screen and click on 'Quantizer'. Click 'Yes'. Change the number to '1.0' then click 'OK'.)

5] Click ‘Convert’ on the Main page. It’ll take awhile for the file to be finished, but after that you should have a raw AVI file of the episode!

Btw the after picture is a lot smaller because I didn't want to wait long for it to convert.=x

 Notes:
 -MP4s suck and keep the progress bar at 0% while you’re converting, but don’t worry it’ll eventually finish though you can’t see the progress.
-Might not work for all MKVs and MP4s. For example, Ayu subs don’t work. Blame the encoder.
-If audio and video are not in sync, then click on 'Force no skipping frames' button on the Options section.

-IF YOU'RE NOT GETTING ALL OF THE VIDEO: Right click > Run as administrator. If it's still not working turn off user account control. If it's still not working after all that you are either stopping AlltoAVI while it's converting or your file is corrupt.

If someone does eventually use this method please tell me! I want to know if it works for others.:3

    I have a program that automatically does this for you and you dont have to change any of the settings.

    Ah, I've been using this for a while and it's great, although I use mkv toolnix instead since it's faster and I don't need to convert. But awesome tutorial xSpade, it really helps out a lot!

    I liked AlltoAVI because I can mess with setting and stuff, but it does work with other programs.

    Okay. I got it on a friend's PC to use and it gives me "Runtime Error 70: Permission Denied" after I click on "Convert". Would you happen to know of a solution, Spade? >.>;

    EDIT: Scratch that. I fixed it. Had to choose "Run as administrator"...

    adlakd;a, I totally forgot about syncing problems. If video and audio don't sync then click on 'Force no skipping frames.' That usually fixes it, if not blame the encoder.8D

    Would it work the same if I converted the video from AVI. to MP4? Or does it have to be MP4 right from the start?

    AVI format does not work because the subs are hardsubbed. (Meaning the subs are actually on the video) So yeah, it needs to be MKV or MP4 right from the get go.
