FFXI: A different kind of audition.

As you might have read from the post before, I've been actively producing a FFXI-themed podcast since October last year with Nikki. It's an in-character email show called "He Says, She Says" and just recently, we've had the pleasure of interviewing a staff member of the Square Enix Community Relations team for the game, and cover a topic for their Podcast Tour. It's been a sparkle of success since the first episode, and it featured some of my friends here in the opening skits. The opening skits are an homage to my roots in AVAing, and being in character during the show itself is sort of voice acting as well, I suppose!
In the near future, I want to take the show into a slightly different direction and feature the occasional FFXI NPCs to join on the show and read/discuss emails with us. For this, I need people who are very familiar with not only the characters, but FFXI in general as well. The emails aren't always necessarily about the game mechanics itself, but cover social topics as well as stories.
So basically, this is an open audition for me to see who's interested, knowledged about Vana'diel and FFXI, and to be part of an ongoing project thats currently followed by hundreds of people. The FFXI community is a cheerful and tight-knit one and the support has been amazing so far. Getting corporate recognition was a milestone, and now I just want to make this baby entertaining to the max!
Again, this is an open casting call, but it is very much preferred that you are familiar with the game and its characters in order to portray them appropriately. I came to the VAA first because I know the quality (voice) acting exists here. I'll do an open casting like this in the various FFXI communities as well to see what untapped VA potential is out there~
FFXI just reached its 7 year anniversary and it now more accessible to anyone than ever. It can still be very unforgiving and a grindfest, but not so much like many free-to-play korean MMORPGs. Nikki and I just finished the Rank 10 mission for San d'Oria and were still pretty amazed at how good the story is, and that's just for one nation.
