Stargate SG-1 & Stargate Atlantis

Does anybody else watch these shows? Two thumbs up to the two best sci-fi series of all time!

Yep I love 'em, ^^ though I'm a little nervous about the newer eps. The Wraith seem a really 2D villain compared to the G'ould same with the evil ancienty dudes. The shows real strength is dialogue it's razor sharp!

Both shows have yet to disappoint me, which is quite an amazing feat considering that Sg-1's been on for nine years. It's gone from intimate, to exiting, to full-blown epic during the course of its run, and I find myself eagerly awaiting each new chunk of series that sci-fi or sky decides to throw at us.

I totally agree. The Ori make great villians. My only disapointment with this season (number 9 BTW) is that Richard Dean Anderson isn't in it. I know that he's taking a break from the show but it doesn't feel quite right without him. Though I do believe Ben Browder is doing nicely all things considered. Can't wait to see what happens when the show starts back in January.

I have to be the biggest SG-1 and SG-A fan on my campus, and I can tell you right now that I absolutely LOVE the turn the show has taken! It's like it's been revamped in the right way, like, it's been freshened up for a new audience and the old audience. Yeah, RDA is gone, but, he wanted to spend more time with his kids, and he said he'd still be willing to make cameos and work on scripts for the show. Ben Browder - I've loved that man since Farscape as John Crichton.

By the way, don't know if you guys know this - the first half of Season Nine went so well that they've officially picked up SG-1 for SEASON TEN! WHICH WILL BREAK THE RECORD FOR THE LONGEST RUNNING SCI-FI SERIES OF ALL TIME! IT WILL KICK THE X-FILES ASS!!


Not that I didn't like X-Files. Loved that, too. ^_^

Best SCIFI series of all time? No. Especially not Atlantis, but you could make a case for Stargate SG1...could. But the title of best SCIFI series of all time in my opinion has to be Star Trek: TNG.

As for watching these, I've seen a large handful of Sg1 episodes (mostly from the current season) and overall liked them, but I just can't get myself hooked enough to watch it regularly. The presense of RDA is greatly missed too, though I do like the addition of Ben Prowder as an actor on the series. Farscape was a great show.

Atlantis on the other hand is quite bad...I decided not to watch it at all anymore after seeing the first five episodes. The premise was a little too much like SG1 to make it seem origional or fresh enough for me to care about watching further. And the fact that the Wraith ARE the weakest cliche-ridden SCIFI villians of all time doesn't help either. I'd rather watch paint dry than watch that show again.

I've seen the first 4 or so seasons of Stargate SG-1 so far and I like it alot. ^_^ Though I'm also just a pretty big fan of Richard Dean Anderson. xD (SPACE MACGYVER) Haven't had the chance to watch Atlantis yet though. I really should try to catch up on SG-1 eventually..As for season 9.. I'm not looking forward to it. Lol.

I'm not big on the sci-fi channel, but I will say I'd choose that over most of the other shows I've glanced at. I've actually watched a few of those episodes, though most were kind of confusing since I had no idea what the hell was already going on.

Tealk or whatever is the bomb though.

Atlantis looks to be pulling out all the stops for the rest of season 2, if last week's new ep is any indication. :O

I'm not crazy about the Atlantis series, tried to get into it but couldn't. I do enjoy Stargate SG1, however, only the older episodes. The new ones do not impress me all that much. O' Neil is not in the new ones, and I really loved his character.

Jack O'Neil was a fantastic character.

The old ones they are showing over again on monday nights are wonderful, better than the new ones. But, that happens with every series when it has been on for a long time.

Last Friday's SG-1 episode was great! It had one of the biggest "Holy Crap" moments of the entire series! The Atlantis episode wasn't as good as I was hoping, but it was still a good episode.

Ah the season is about to end! Really looking forward to the finales of SG-1 and Atlantis since both have what appear to be major turning points about to take place. It was nice to see Claudia Black back on SG-1 and I hear she's going to be a regular on the series starting next season (yes!). Counting down the days to Friday!

I love the earlier SG1 episodes. I doubt the creators will pull off the new SG1s without Jack O'Neil. It sucks that Stargate got the axe in Australia. Now I have to buy the expencive DVD sets to watch it.
