Ok, this is a topic that intrests me quite a bit, and I figured, it being halloween and all, this was appropriate. Have any of you had encounters with the supernatural? I honestly havent. I dont even know if I belive in ghosts or stuff like that, but stories about such things, wether true or not, intrique me.
If you havent had an encounter like this, do you belive in Spirits? Why or why not?
Now GO! Tells stories and discuss!

One of my good friends is haunted as in it actually follows him where he goes, not just at his appartment. I even go some of it on film. As for me I have a lot of near death experiences where I should be dead (I'm up to 22 times ^^) if it werent for flukes so I guess I have something looking after me. Like the time instead of crossing the street I picked up a nickel and didn't get hit by the bus that missed the stop sign. merp.

Common more people have to have stories!!
Here's mine:
5 years old - Saw a white miost outside my kitchen door.
14/15ish - Praying while taking a shower, was pushed over very forcefully. I know the diffrance from falling and being pushed.
16ish - Something whispered in my ear when I was in my bedroom (the attic) listening to music.
Begining of the year - Moved into apartment with brother and felt a strange engery in the apartment, like someone had died here. A few days later, bro tells me two drug addicts had died in the apartment.
3 months ago - saw a shadow creature
for the past couple months - I think I see someone standing in front of the closet door, which is right across from my bed.
Past couple weeks - waking up with bruses, scratches, and welts that were's there before. they look/feel like flea bites, but it's too cold for flea activity.
full life - always been senseitive to spiritual activity.

The closest to "supernatural" activity I've experienced is when I used to see flashes of shadows crossing through the hallway by my kitchen, random punching in the wall from in the wall itself, and that one time I thought a wolf spirit was following me around after my mom died.

Speaking of shadows...I have a unexplained story...well actually it happens all the time.
Sometimes when I dont have school and I wake up in the afternoon, I'll see a shadow come across my wall like someone was walking in the hall, but no one did because I can EASILY see and hear someone in my family if they walk next to my room. At first I thought it was just the shadow of a car drving by, but then I thought about it for a minute, and realized that that was impossible. I'm on the second story of the house for one thing, I can hear cars when they go by, and Ive seen cars go by when Im out of bed, and I know for sure they dont make a shadow across my wall.
If it only happend once or twice, I wouldnt give it a second thought, but it actually happens all the time. Maybe twenty times or more that Ive seen. At first it kinda scared me, but now its just, "Oh, there goes that shadow again, wonder what it is."

lol interesting about the shadow on the wall..
well i can sense evil spirits, since when i was a kid, at first it was scary, but now it's pretty handy for avoiding bad situations and stuff. I haven't ever heard anything or seen, i don't think i want to that would be creepy, but when i sense it, it's like an alarm, i feel a dampening in my spirit, like its being crushed, it's pretty weird feeling.
as a christian, i'd say it's the holy spirit determining them, but you can call it whatever you want.

*Raises hand*
I seriously talk to dead people in my town's cemetery. Actually, the town my college is in.
I kid you not. I don't think it can get more obvious than that.
There's even one boy, his name's Christopher, he's always asking for his red wagon.
It's actually kind of sad when I go there. It's all people who don't seem to get that they're dead.
*Blinks*
You're all gonna think I'm crazy.

I've experienced alot of things myself. But actually recently I called to talk to my mom and she told me that lately (Day after halloween, then two days after that) she's been seeing this young girl looking to be around 10/11 standing in her bathroom. We've all had our own experiences in that house but I don't think any of us have actually seen a solid form of someone there yet. So that was kind of interesting..
And yes, I believe in spirits. :P

I absolutely LOVE hearing/reading stories about ghosts, etc.
I've had some experiences but they're probably too minor to really be anything worth sharing...I'll keep checking this thread though. I used to not believe in things like that but I've heard far too many strange stories for it not to be real.

I'm really not sure whether or not I believe in them >>;; But I've heard so many stories... @_@;; I have a sort-of story...but it was probably my step-cousin playing a trick on me -.-;; *Super gullible* Umm, yeah. So, me and my sister stayed at my cousins' house while their dad was on his honeymoon, and me, my cousin, and my step-cousin all slept in the master bedroom on the big bed >>;; My other cousin was on the floor, lol. So, after my two cousins fall asleep, me and my step-cousin are just laying there, kinda like "Ooookay..." And then there's this scratching under my pillow ><;; I start saying "Stop it!" and my cousins are still asleep and my step-cousin thinks I'm crazy. So, I lay down again, and a few minutes later, I feel the scratching again and I sit up and say "Stop it! I'm serious!!" And my step-cousin's like "Stop what?" And so I just lay back down again, and next time I feel it again, I ask her if she's really doing it, and she says no. And so I lay there, the scratching stops, but a few minutes later, I feel something run down my back, like a finger or something >>;; Soo... by then, I really didn't believe it was my step-cousin because I never felt her hand or arm creep under my back, it was just this sudden feeling of something running down my back... So, then I called for my sister, and then I went to sleep in the other room, lol. And that's it -.-;; Yeah, it was probably my cousin, but oh well... -_-;; I'm just...going to shut up now... *Slips away*

This is a strange one... I woke up one night and I couldn't move my body. Only my head. It felt like somehting was holding me down and sitting on me. Suddenly my hand raises up and my head is forced to look at it. My hand is now in a possition as if ready to arm wrestle. Which is exactly what happens next. My hand is suddenly be forced down, and I have so little strengh that I can't fight back. I cant even talk. As if my mouth was being held shut. And so suddenly, out of nowhere, I start thinking 'in the name of Jesus' over and over again. And suddenly the force gets weak and right before I slam its hand down to win, everything goes away and i can move and talk again.
I told a friend this. And about a week later, a simular thing happend to her! She woke up and couldnt move, couldn't even talk. And then something starts to drag her off her bed. She goes to scream but can't. And before she is pulled off the bed it all stops and goes away.
I found it freaky how not long after telling her my story it happend to her. @_@ someone else I knew, she would have ghosts in her room and they would talk to her and she would talk back to them when she was sad. She can also sense aura's and both of her houses are haunted you could say.
So... yeah. I believe in spirits, lol

Something like that happened to my mom a couple of years back. When we were living in our old apartment. My mom was walking down the hall to get something to eat. All of a sudden she felt this force approaching her, it stopped her from talking. She couldn't force a sound out at all,she told me o.O. So, she said in her head: Get out of my Home in Jesus name, I rebuke you. Then all of a sudden the evil force stopping my mom died, she got her voice back...When she told me this, I was so shocked and scared.
I've also encountered many different spiritual things after 5 of my Near-Death experiences. I always feel like someone or something's following me. I'm questioned if it's something good or something bad.
So,yes. I do believe in spirits as well.

My family on my mothers side are Empaths, sadly I don't really have such an ability cause it wasn't something that was explored. However I do get the gut feelings that I'm watched at times or chills, its a feel of the energy surrounding me.
My mother could tell you stories to make your skin crawl. But back in may my grandfather died and since than we've noticed here and back in washington with my Grandmother's house that somethings have occured.
1) Shortly after his death, my uncle dave changed the answering machine message, the original went like this, "You've reached Jim Owings and Virgina. We can't answer the phone so leave a name and message at the tone."
It was changed too, "You've reached the Owings household, we're not available, leave a message at the tone."
He tested, he called the phone, it all worked. About not even 5 minutes later, the phone rings, caller id said "Private Number" when the machine picked up the power went dead for 3 seconds. We didn't think much of it till my old man called the house, I left it alone cause I wasn't gonna answer the phone. The machine picked up, "You've reached Jim Owings and Virgina. We can't answer the phone so leave a name and message at the tone."
......Mom and I went "Uh oh....."
2) Shortly after the funeral, everyone was in the living room having dinner. All my family was there.
Suddenly, the bedroom door slams shut.
The reason behind this, my grandfather HATED doors being left open, right down to the bathroom door. So everytime he came by to an open door he closed it and he would slam it to make himself noticable to not leave the door of any sorts open....
3) After we came home, it was another 3 months before we took the Urn out of the cardboard box. I remember mom placing it near the kitchen on the counter.
A day passed by and mom came to me and asked if I had moved the Urn into the Den by all the Golf artifacts my dad collects. I told her no, ask dad.
Dinner came by and dad sat down in the Den and looked above the TV set where the Golf stuff was and said, "Hey what's that black Urn doing up there?" Mom told him, "That's your father." He looked over at mom and I said, "When did you guys put him over there?" "You mean you didn't?" "No, how could I? I've been out golfing all day."
So the three of us continue to admit, that none of us put his ashes by the golf stuff.

And your Bipolar could be part as a direct result of being an Empath by taking in various emotions and energies from the people around you any given part of the day.

That's true too. Usually in crowds of people I get way too overwhelmed by alot of different emotions that I end up freaking out. (Happens at anime conventions usually as well.)

Hehe, so there are others out there too that have been through it. And your mother did the same thing I did. But in my case, I had NO idea what was going on. And its as if God just took over and started saying it for me. Cuz i was more confused than scared O.o
And I have had many near death experiences myself. But it was as if something was protecting me. As if a shield was around me.

I'm bipolar myself. I usually feed off of other peoples emotions. But its not as extreem as in your case. I'll usually feed off one person and neglect the rest. It must be difficult to feed off an entire crowd. But it does mean you got a gift I think. You can relate to people, help people, ect ect. That is, if you use it for good ^_~
There are some other weird things that have happend to my family. One time my mom was sick. And my dad prayed for her and she got better in a hurry! But then he woke up that night and a little creature was on the bed and its head slowly turned around with the most evil of expression. As if it was the cause for my moms pain and my dad got ride of it. He said even after it went away he could feel an evil presense out the door.
Onetime my mom put on a mood ring and suddenly she had super natural strengh and wasnt herself. As if being possessed. And once her sister and some guy wresteled her down (the two of them barely could hold her down) took off the ring, she went back to normal.

Yeah. I'm an empath as well, and I'm also a witch, so I have a tendency to get myself into trouble. *Sighs* I once screwed up the wording of a spell for clairvoyance and my empathy went out of whack. I couldn't touch people without picking up their emotions real intensely for about a half-hour afterward.
God, worst month of my life.

I don't know... I used to believe in spirits and stuff since I had experiences with seeing ghosts, hearing voices, etc. BUuuUUt, then I learned that schizophrenia runs in the family and I'm showing more signs of that so I'm starting to believe it's all in my head! Hehe.
The best spirit related thing I think is that part in the Matrix where the Orical (sp?) is talking about how spirits and such are programs that aren't doing their job.

I swear I used to have a poltergeist in my old bedroom. It would do random stuff like pull down my posters and type on my computer. Often I would come into my room, try to close the door, and have it stick about a foot from closed, almost like the poltergeist was coming into the room. As soon as he got in, the door would close. I pretty much figured I was just being silly, thinking there was a ghost, until one day half of the beaded curtain in front of my door lifted by itself as if something about four feet tall passed under it. That scared the bejesus out of me. Haven't seen it since I moved, though.
Then there was Charlie at the cemetary. Everyday around sunset, I would see an old man in a black long coat, crying. His eyes were rimmed with red, he had been crying so long. His back was turned to me, and he was about 100 yards away, but I could see his face as if it were right in front of me. No one else ever saw him.
Then there are the ghosts that cross the street around my boyfriend's house. They look like soldiers, but they're pale and foggy.
I've always been kind of a creepy kid though, thinking I'm empathic and seeing spooks and such. A lot of it may just be the chemical imbalance in my brain and such, but I still believe that spirits are out there.

how do you get rid of ghosts or evil spirits?
i say "in the name of Jesus Christ, i rebuke you"
or "by the blood of the lamb(refering to christs death), i rebuke you"
i'm just interested in other ways people do it?

I should be dead. 'Nuff said. I have to many stories to write. The only one I will share takes place when I was six years old. I was walking down a muddy hill near some woods and slipped in the mudd. As I was falling I swear I felt something shove me to the right. When I hit the ground I looked to the left and an iron rod had went between my arm and torso. Right under the arm pit area. I'm not big on the super natural but I know when someone is starring at me from behind me sometimes and I feel presences at random places. I feel the most relaxing comfort at a cemetary and the most uncomfortable feelings at hospitals.
Eh 'nuff of that sh*t.

Wow..you're not alone. I'm also a bit creeped to go in the guest room at my house. I don't mind it it in the daytime but at night..*shivers* I also feel sometimes that I'm being watched, and sometimes I can feel certain "energy" in different locations (of course it could just be my imagination, not necessarily anything spiritual.) As far as getting rid of the evil feelings I'm religious so praying seems to help almost instantly as well as simply telling it to leave.
Dagita: I know what you mean about hospitals. I had to go to a certain one in town recently to visit a friend of my parents, and there was a HORRIBLE feeling in that place, you could actually feel this feeling of death and 'bad' spirits and such. I was really freaked out and my parents kept asking me what was wrong but I didn't want to say anything for fear of sounding stupid ^_^; But yeah I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.

I've been debating whether to start a thread similar to this, but after a quick search I'm glad I didn't decide on starting one. I wouldn't want to have several threads of the same topic floating about, no matter how old. I am going to bump this thread topic with an experience of my own.
My aunt passed away at the end of '99 on the last day of December. She was much like a second mother to me and this being my first experience with having lost someone, it had came to me as such a shock. I took it hard. My childhood friend accompanied me at the funeral. Though, I remember her being more scared than supportive, which she later explained that she had seen me wandering the halls as a ghostly apparition. You would think that you'd see someone of the dead wandering the halls of the funeral home rather than someone who had been living! During the service, I sat through the prayers and hymns feeling emotionally and mentally numb. I couldn't bring myself to cry or feel any sort of pain, or sadness of loss. I was too shocked. My friend joined us for prayers late and upon entering the funeral home, she was ushered into the parlour where they were holding the service. On the way, I had been told that I was seen in two places. My physical body was sitting in the pews, vacant of expression; the spiritual part of me apparently had been seen wandering the halls crying silently outside the service area. I was pacing back and forth, turned to my friend with tears streaming down my face before disappearing. She wasn't the only one to have seen this either. The ushers, or clerks that tended to the casket were exiting the parlour and seen it too. It was a bit scary to have the priest come up to me and bless me after the service. It was explained that for whatever reason, sometimes the spirit of a mourner would leave the body because the pain is too great for the physical body to handle. I do recollecting 'zoning out', but I don't remember anything else aside from the priest touching my shoulder to beckon me back. o.o;;
To be honest, I never used to believe in spirits, or the supernatural for that matter. After this experience though, it opened a door for me... I mean, if people saw MY spirit, then what difference was there to seeing a spirit of someone deceased, or not? Really makes you think doesn't it?

This happened long time ago but what the hell. Wall post beware.
It was back when I was a boy scout at my school in 6th grade and we decided to "camp" on the school grounds. Everything was normal up until the point where we had to do the Test of Courage; we would go up to the top floor of the main High School building (the school basically had Elementary, High School, and College in one place by the way) to the farthest room to the left of the building to sign our names and go back down. While the 3 of us were signing our names on the notepad the flashlight we had randomly rolled over when no one even pushed the table it was sitting on and it wasn't windy at all; that marked all the weird supernatural things we encountered that time. As we made our way down we would hear certain noises coming from the alleyway that leads to the fire exit on every floor except the top, 2nd, and ground floor. On the 5th floor we heard children playing with marbles, a girl's laughter on the 4th, and on the 3rd floor where a mirror was hanged we saw a figure wearing a white dress so we ran for our dear lives screaming until we got to the ground floor. The scout master asked us what happened and we told him everything but he didn't believe us, nor did most of the other scouts, thinking that it was just our imaginations and stress making us think we heard and saw those things.
We moved on to the next activity: it's basically red light green light but instead of freezing we had to get on our bellies with our head down and go all the way to the High School cafeteria from this uphill at the soccer field. If he sees your face when he shines his flashlight on you you were out and have to do a punishment game: collect wood along the others who were out so we could build the bonfire. When the kids who had to go get the wood came back their faces were pretty pale and were going on about how they heard screaming noises of a woman being burned. The scout master was pretty alarmed but regardless he didn't stop the camp.
The 3rd and final supernatural even that happened at camp was as we were sitting around the bonfire we all heard a faint scream coming from the building across the main High School building, which was the other High School building. We all went over to where the noise was coming from with our flash lights and pocket knives in hand with me and the Scout Master in front, which was the Earth Science room on the 2nd floor's farthest room. There was nothing there, or so we thought, when we heard the scream again as we were about to open the door but this time it was much louder. When the door opened the noises stopped but we saw a figure in there, then it hit me. I remembered the full details of the school's history that my Dad told me about: first it was a garden, then a graveyard, then a hospital, and now the school that stands to this day. There was also this rumor he heard that a female college student was raped and murdered on the same room where we were and that event plays back on that room during the night. Looks like the latter part of the rumor is real after all. We all went back to our tents by the soccer field and tried to sleep until the next day because it was way too late to go back home anyway and the security guards already went home anyway. The moment dawn broke we all immediately went straight home and our Scout Master reported the incidents to the Principal the next day and requested to do and exorcism on the school buildings. Ever since that incident no more supernatural events happened in the school and the high school buildings went through some serious renovation because the inside looks creepy as fuck but NOTHING compared to the inside of the college building though, especially at night. It's the last place I want to be in when it's really dark, even if I am with a bunch of people.
Another edit: After googling it it looks like what happened to you S. Jinei is called an out-of-body experience. (http://bbm12170.tripod.com/id11.html) As for me it was just a normal ghost on the 1st one, Psychic Echo on the 2nd one, and a mix of Psychic Echo and Atmospheric Apparition on the 3rd one.

There was actually a rumor of a haunting in the house I currently live in. If there were, they do not bother us now, nor have they bothered us before.
In general, I have a state of awareness when it comes to the supernatural, so if spiritual shit goes down near me, I know of it. I'm not bragging, either. I hate the feeling.

I believe there are explainations for everything but in my mothers home (which she still lives in) we had several occurances over a certain time period which no one can explain.
(same as above, ive save wall of text)
My mother lives in a 2 floored house and when you walk up the stairs, on your right is a solid balcony, you can not see through it as its just a sort of wall. Since we moved in, when walking upstairs, we always got a horrible feeling of dread passing the balcony and it stopped my little brother going up to the bathroom by himself up to the age of 9 because the feeling was so horrible that i had to take him up.
Nothing happened for years, we lived in the house for around 15 years happily, the only items we didnt feel were right was the balcony and random sounds we heard but we put it to old house noises etc.
Then one night, i was on the computer and my family were all asleep. my bedroom door faces onto the end of the balcony which means i can see down the stairs but also at the other side of it too. My room was in darkness, except for my computer on, and the hallway light was off but outside the street lights go through our downstairs window and lights up our hallway and part of upstairs hallway slightly so we can see infront of us but not detailed but we had been living in that house for so long we knew exactly where everything was.
I got up because i needed to go to the bathroom and went to my bedroom door and I opened it to see a roundish object, around chest height standing right infront of my door, it was maybe within arms length, but was stanidng infront of the end of the balcony.
I originally thought it was my little brother but it stood infront of me and you could see it swaying slightly, like when you stand for too long your legs start to get wobbley. It wasnt the balcony because the balcony was a rectangle shape whereas this was rounder at top, like a head plus also i could see the balcony because the light was reflecting slightly off the top. The more i stared at it, the more it was there infront of me swaying and i could tell it wasnt my little brother and there is no one else who it could be
I stood for maybe around 30-40 seconds staring at it when i decided to be brave and turn on the light to see it so i turned to my left where my lightswitch was and turned the light on. When i turned back, all i could see was the balcony but a creeking infront of me beside the balcony but nothing was there.
So i closed the door, ran to my computer and posted what had happened on my blog. i still have that post to this day :P but i never saw what it was.
.......THEN! Second experience, within a couple of weeks from the first, i was in the bathroom, daytime and i opended the door which faces onto the hidden side of the balcony and the stairs are on the other side but all i can see is the balcony and the wall behind it.
We had a pull string light switch and i reached up to pull it but as i looked at the wall, i could see my shadow, one arm up to pull the cord and one holding the door handle but fainter behind my shaddow was a taller bigger shaddow, it was the size of a normal man but i could see both hands beside him. Again, i couldnt move for a couple of seconds then decided to run down the stairs, when i passed the wall, the shadow was still there not moving. got my mum up to see but it was gone..........ONLY for her to tell me how she was woken up that morning around 3am. she sleeps with the top of her head towards the door so she cant see who comes in. but she said she woke up because she heard the draft excluder brushing against the floor like when someone opens the door. she checked but nothing was there but the door was slightly open but she ignored it. she lay in bed and she had an over whelming feeling that someone was behind her and then she heard breathing, like a man breathing (no not my dad lol he was away at the time). It was as if they were standing above her and looking down but there was no one there so she turned on the tv and then checked when it came on but after that it was silence. but it happens every now and then and theres never anyone there.
...........THEN....... maybe about a month or two after all these things my mum was downstairs in the kitchen and my toddler niece was just next door in the livingroom playing. Mum was cooking when all of a sudden she heard an almighty crash upstairs in the hallway and then a girl crying. She ran upstairs panicing incase my niece had hurt herself, got to the top, she could still hear the crying but faintly, she ran round all the rooms and realised that it was louder in the hallway than in the rooms.
Still panicing she ran downstairs and into the livingroom where my niece was playing happily in there with her dolls. She could still hear crying so went out because she was getting too scared.
We've put it to "invetigators" and i use that term lightly, but they advised us that the situation is occurring in one particular spot (the balcony) and it seems that there was something there but unsure exactly what made them want to show they are there now after all those years living there.
We are still trying to find information on the houses but they were there since the early 20's and during WW2 but were badly damaged and many died so we are still researching.
......the end
After googling it it looks like what happened to you S. Jinei is called an out-of-body experience. (http://bbm12170.tripod.com/id11.html)
Yeah, that's exactly what it most likely was.
