So, who's going??? I've already arranged to go and i was wondering if anyone else was going so we could meet up?
I'm sooo excited!!!
It says all the info on the site, but the dates are Saturday Oct 29th and Sunday 30th, and the tickets are £6 per adult (£3 per child under 15)
I'm going to the Sat 29th one. Is anybody else planning on going?

Sounds good to me I was going to go anyway ^^ and I'd love to meet more VAs, Runai scared the heck outta me by showing up unexpectedly last time XD.
Got a preference for which day to go?
There's also IMAF: http://www.imaf.co.uk if you're interested ;3

hmm. sounds interesting. i'm not into manga/anime much anymore but i might go for the chance to meet people AND to hand out VAing business cards. ;)

Hmmm tempting. I'm unsure of the particular type of person a general event like this is going to attract. (Photos with the stars?) I may have bring a cloths peg (attack of the unhigenic sweat nerds from hell). It could be fun it could be a living nightmare. Still what's 6 quid? A few beers that's all.
I shall check my scedual :)

It's got general SF /tv stuff cabbage so you should be alright. Last one was general mundanes and otaku XD . Though they charge for most signatures ;_:

No flyers, they even got pretty rude when I asked about it ( they told me off for plugging when a forum user asked about us o-0). They're not the friendliest people.

Are you talking about EXPO? or the other thing? :)
Otaku...... That's my new favourite word. OtakuOtakuOtakuOtakuOtakuOtakuOtakuOtakuOtakuOtaku OtakuOtakuOtakuOtakuOtaku.
Ooooooooooooooooottttttttttttttttttttttttaaaaaaaaa aaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
Right that's out of my system now.

Can't even give people free publicity these days without someone getting the arse.

IMAF looks really cool actually, and EXPO doesn't look all that bad either.
i'd like to go to both but i'm a student and very nearly broke, with no job. so i dunno if i can spare the dosh on petrol and parking/train journey.
IMAF's free so obviously that one would be a bit cheaper in total, but EXPO looks like a right laugh. argh!

Erm IMAF is going to have to be better than last time - but I'm not going because of how bad it was last time. Let me know if it's o.k. and I may go next time.
London Anime Expo: I'm helping to run the cosplay stuff with Orihime (Emily-chan) - if you bring any weapons other than guns they'll be coming to me to be checked. So anyone coming now knows where to find me :boom
Oh and Azure - I found you guys through your plugging, keep it up :D

Wow plugging worked?!! XD darn shoulda plugged at IMAF. IMAF was better than last year as there were a few panels, but still not fantastic. They really need someone to check the entries- they actually put up a picture of Urd from Oh my Godess o-0. The panels I went to were good but they said it was all last moment. I may ask next year for a VA panel ^^,,
I know who Emily is ( met her through j-pop go ;3), so I'll see if I can figure out who you are ;3

Should be easy - I'll be the one dressed as Saya (if I finish the costume) or Kiki on Saturday and dressed as a Zombie on Sunday whilst working the Cosplay stand or something like that. I have to finish the Saya costume, I mean I'm in charge of sharp pointy objects so I get to o.k. my own sword. mmmmmmmm.....swords........

Ok for those who do go I shall lurk at the artists alley, ( usually by the Sweatdrop stall) at 12pm then I'll probably check back at 1pm. If it's working then there are pics of me on the VAA photo album in the Amecon folder.

I was too busy working the cosplay section to meet up really, which is a shame. I won the PSP from Manga only Jerome thought I was kidding and gave it to someone else - but then was guilty enough to give me a load of DVD's instead and made sure that Cam Clarke signed the Robotech DVD and an Akira poster for me. I got to say "hey, I'm a big fan of yours" whilst looking like a zombie....hahahahahahahaha
Oh and Bruce Boxleitner asked me if he should call me a doctor then laughed when I told him I was probably a little past that...
All in all a cool but busy 2 days for me.

Next time I'm in London it will be for the LAC on Sunday 4th December...we could meet there for a bit. I mean I'm planning on doing stuff in London that weekend with friends then coming home that night so maybe even have time to wander around, go to China Town or for a meal somewhere or something...

*prods cabbage* there are too many people I know in Southampton already - you should move :P
I'm in Guildford. Look it's almost midway between London and Southampton...w00t
I know Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage but as I go everywhere by public transport it's a pain to go anywhere much - especially with no money. Sometime in the new year I've no doubt I shall be holding one of my infamous parties...I'm sure I'll invite people from here now too - making them even more infamous.
Morningstar: I help out running the Cosplay section at the Expo so I'm in cosplay both days - I feel it's only right to be dressed up when running these events. I'm a little bit sad about the whole cosplay thing, I had my hair chopped off and dyed bright pink a couple of years ago just for a costume - well I said it was for charity so that work would let me but really it was for cosplay - and this October I cut in a fringe and dyed my hair black so that I could be a better Kiki. :XD

Expo is ages away so I'll probably say nearer the time, the big con is of course Amecon since it has teo pro VA guests and we'll probably be there with a VA panel.
the-mental-one
11-23-2005, 09:50 PM
Well the LAC goes on until 6pm and then I don't have to be on a train home till around 10pm - work the next day means I should try and get at least some sleep even if I can work without it it's better to be more awake when you're job's a boring as mine...
Anyway if people want to meet up at the LAC that'd be cool but afterwards we could always go somewhere else and meet there - plenty of places to go around London.
Amecon - I still don't know if I'm going. Don't have much cash right now so mostly I'm going to places which are cheap - or free if you work them. Anyway a con just doesn't feel right without me working anymore, I have more fun that way than wandering around aimlessly.

was it something i said? anyway were you guys planning on meating up at the expo?
Azure
12-30-2005, 05:08 PM
Your reply probably got bumped down and we didn't see it. To be honest the expo isn't really a social event ( I found anyway).
The next big event I imagine will be Amecon where we'll have a meet and probably run a panel, though I also go to jpop go sometimes too.

12-30-2005, 08:15 PM
Amecon whats that? never heard of that
Azure
12-30-2005, 09:55 PM
We do have a thread about it : http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/showthread.php?t=8438 Amecon site is at www.amecon.org.uk
There's also the Irish con : http://www.tomo-dachi.com/ but I'm not sure if anyoe is going to that. There are I think a few other cons around too.

Ooops meant to reply to this sooner, Expo is a really hard to event to meet people at. Unlike a con there are virtually no socializing areas and the ques are loooooong. I'm on two minds about goinig, if I do go I suggest we meet at artists alley?
