The following artical was written out of my own frustrations or lack of a romantic life. This guide is written not to be an over the top romance guide, but rather a simple guide for those not sure how to express love or emotions. They are just guidelines, not rules, and hopefully you will find them useful.

If you would like my views on particular areas of a romantic nature, please feel free to ask.

A Romance Guide for the Romantically Challenged.

Lesson 1

Know the woman/man/object of your affection. The lesson I'm about to give is based on the subject being a "sentimental"

A sentimental, such as myself thrive on affection, attention, and compliments.

Before you break out the Champaign or make those reservations, let me assure you that such creatures such as a "sentimental" are easily pleased. More easily so then you may realize.

Here is a set of things that will assist you in keeping your sentimental romantic partner satisfied or at least pleased.

If your love asks you, "cheer me up." This can easily be achieved by simply giving him or her a complement. For example: It's okay, your doing great. You don't even have to say "I love you", just "your beautiful/handsome." or, "you make me happy, what can I do for you?" Obviously if they ask you to cheer them up, they honestly would like your attention, and are being so bold as to even ask for your help.

A note, small memento or even the "lipstick on the mirror" routine work. A simple "I miss you." or "Have a wonderful day." "I'm thinking of you" will suffice. A voice mail, an email, a text messege, any of which will bring a smile to your partner's face.

Romance is CHEAP guys, I'm talking CHEAP. You do not have to buy the world, or even anything really. Open the door for her guys, and girls, think of something he likes to do, and try to join in. Encourage him, complement him, and challenge him intellectually.

If I have to plan it out for you I will!, try this:

Monday: pick a time, anytime, think of your love, and let them know. Contact, communicate, and connect.
To let them know, email, text, phone, or leave a note. If you feel so INCLINE, actually WRITE out a letter, or note, and SNAIL MAIL it. It's nice to receive messages that aren't bills or junk, and your love is never junk.

Tuesday: Take the time to express yourself, and invite your love to join you. A movie you both enjoy? a hobby you both share? have fun together. And here's a good hint for you...MAKE THEM LAUGH. A joke, a look, anything, just make them laugh.

Wednesday: Do something NICE for your significant other. For example, if there is something they would normally do around the house, do it for them. Clean, cook or buy dinner, even get them a drink from the kitchen with out having to ask.

Thursday: Dress up, show your partner you want to look nice just for them, even though you know you love them, simply dressing nicely and NOT going out can be fun. Flirt, remember why it is you love that person. Their smile, their eyes as they see you looking as gorgeous as the day you met.

Friday: DATE YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER! Even if you are married or NOT it doesn't matter, ask your spouse or partner out, this goes for both guys or girls. Remember, you love them. Cherish them.
Show them

As for your weekend, find any combination of the above, and have fun with it! or take it to the next level (sex!) Express yourself, and feel the love, and you will make your partner very happy.

This is easy to maintain as well, my dears, and doesn't take the super amount of time you think it does! It takes as little as 15 minutes, or as long as 3 hours. You decide, but just remember, they love you, you love them, you should never feel ashamed to show it.

Rotate these expressions of affection to once a week, or how ever often you like, but always, always remember, it only takes a minute to say you care, and caring beyond the words "love". Express your caring for this person, and let it show.
I'm such a sap....
