Hey all! I'm brand new to both this site and voice acting. I decided to test myself by picking a scene and reading it through, interpreting the characters with no preparation. I'd never attempted any of these voices before. For all you Daria fans I am voicing Mrs. Li, Daria, Quinn and Mrs. Manson. I would like some critiques please! I've never had any training of any sort before so I know there's a lot I'll need to work on, especially pacing and diction.
This was recorded on my digicam with my son playing in the background so sorry about the quality. Lol.

Me doing a few of my favorite quotes by Harley Quinn. My style is a bit Arleen Sorkin, a bit Tara Strong and a bit of myself :)

I have only seen a few eps of Daria and but I think you did the voice of Quinn very well. Your Daria voice started out good but I think I detected that you were breaking her monotone near the end. Keep up the pratice and you'll ace the peppy teenage girl and monotone/goth girl voice.
It started out a with a little cracked voice but your Harley just needs more confidence and I feel that you'll get her. You have her persona down right.
I really like they way you said the word "carefully" in your first line. When I heard you say that word I though the voice was spot on.
Keep up the good work :)

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it. I've been going crazy lately recording myself imitating other people trying to figure out how much of a range I have and what I need to work on. I figured doing that would be a good place to start. I was really pleased with how Quinn came out, but the rest do need some work.
Daria is much harder than I thought because of the monotone and keeping it that way! It's gonna take a bit of practice. I've got the peppy girl down way better than the goth girl .. which is funny because people always complain that my real voice is too monotone lol.

If anyone has any advice on how I can improve in ANY way please let me know. My main goal isn't to sound EXACTLY like preestablished characters, but just to use them as ways to find my range. I know I need improvement in technique and delivery as well. I'd love to hear anything I can work on :)
