Hi there!

I'm back yet again! Yawn, I'm sure as this must be the millionth time and millionth project I've started (past ones have included Ghostbusters, Eternal Sonata, Resident Evil, etc).

It always saddens me to have to move on from something but it seems everything of my fails pretty hard and kind of quickly out of the gate. Not to point fingers, but the main reason I've found this happens is the sudden lack of getting lines in. Everyone is super vigilant when it comes to auditioning but when I've decided on a cast and scripts go out its almost less than half of the people who return their lines, even for something as simple as a little teaser or character demo. I try my best to communicate, ask whats going on, do they need more time but it quickly becomes apart that no one really cared to much about the project and soon my interests goes too.

So please, please, if you are going to do this to me then don't bother auditioning - my least favorite part of a project is casting because really I want to be mixing and having all your lovely voices heard in a project (its also so hard because there are so many talented people). I'm going to make lengthy deadlines as maybe I wasn't giving enough time but even then communication was lacking! Beware though, I am also going to lay out some harsh rules and some different guidelines as I really want to have some awesome finished products.

**I am 100% dead serious that if these are not followed to the letter that your audition won't even be considered. This is my first super harsh rule that I'm hoping will encourage only those who are not going to flake out on me to audition.. also shows you can read. Yes, I'm a bitch but again, I can't say enough I just want a successful project with some awesome finished episodes!! And I know this sounds crazy for something that is just suppose to be fun but thats the kind of crazy I'm going to be. :D

1) Please read my note above.

2) Email all auditions to aarlyn.aarons@yahoo.ca with the following subject line "Marvel Anime: X-Men Audition".

3) In the email please include your resume if you have one. And any other information you would like me to have. I will be reading over these, watching your works, etc. Maybe even talking to people you've worked with. **Also, please mention if you would be willing to be asked to do some fun side projects while we wait for the deadline to come.

4) Attach the **zip file named "yourname_xmenauditions" containing your auditions that are named "yourname_charactername_line#. If you are auditioning for more than one character you can put them into different folders labeled with the characters name but it is not necessary.

5) Please only include one take of each line.

6) Files should be in stereo format, saved as an mp3, and be crystal clear.

7) If you would like to make a video of your auditions and send me a Youtube link then this is more than just fine but very happily accepted.

8) You do not need to sound like any previous voice actor or actor from the shows or movies. Just sound like the character!! i.e. Hank is a beast but highly intelligent. I'm open to all new spins and am not going to delegate voice types as you never know it might just fit in my mind. If you would like a reference these episodes are on Netflix or there are clips on Youtube.

I'm definitely going to be sending you auditions for this. Out of curiosity: I know you didn't list anything for it, but are you looking for any specific vocal styles for each character (pitch, accent, soft/gruff, etc) or would you just like us to do whatever we feel would be suitable?

Any take you like! I really wanted to leave that part of it open so people could have fun with it. :)

I've watched a few of the cartoons and the movies and accents seem to vary as do the voice types so as long as it fits the character, like obviously with Wolverine, gruff, growley, etc. If you want to do an audition with an accent and one without you can as well just mark them different by adding letters do the appointed save titles. Those are important btw so that it helps me keep everything straight.

I'm just curious about one thing. Are you looking for any certain kind of voices? I ask because I actually do impersonations of several of the 1990s X-Men animated series characters including Prof. X & Cyclops.

I'm really not because there have been so many shows, movies, video games that as long as it fits the character's personality traits. Like Wolverine, he's gruff, sarcastic, angry, etc.. so he wouldn't have a high happy tone of voice you know? Deep and brooding yes. If you want to do it like other animated series go for it, or try your own spine.. or both I'm totally happy to hear what people come up with.

I'm okay putting whatever you want - like I said I just put SamJackson because thats how you named the files. Create an alias and use that if you want Big Master Thick than thats groovy with me.

I don't really understand how it is illegal. Its a FAN dub.. I always make sure I put the proper disclaimers and that there is no copy right infringement intended. But to each his own. I'll do whatever you are comfortable and you can just consider this off the record practice :)

It is the holidays after all, think nothing of it. Over Christmas i'm hoping to get a new (and better) mic anyways, so the wait is just more time to practice and await that beautifl machinery! ^_^
