Hello VAA,

My name is Joel, and I'm with Z-Shift, a studio/licensing/production house that is in need of a generic male actor (think Joe Everyman) for a 1 minute commercial spot for a local company here in Idaho. Since it's local, the budget isn't great, so I decided it'd be a great opportunity for people to showcase their talents for future potential use (and mild monetary compensation). If interested, please email me at joel@z-shift.com and I'll get you the script to read from.

Some basic rules if you will:

- Please nobody with logitech headsets recording. This is a *professional* spot, and we need good sound quality. I'm not asking for Nuemann U87 quality, but definitely not desktop mic quality.
- The spot calls for a generic voice (sorry, only American accents. Male ony per video requirements)
- Payment will be 50 dollars upon completion and acceptance by client. Revisions may be needed for lines. May be willing to work out a 'deposit +' deal if need be.
- You *can* add this to your resume as a paid, professional gig for a registered company (vital to entertainment industry!)
- It *is* the real script, so by emailing for it, you automatically accept non-disclosure. Also, the audition will be your submission (with time cues, and such done) so please email me for any further instruction. Thanks again guys, and I hope to get lots of excited emails!
- I ask that you email me, as I deal with *many* sites, and it's easier for me to have one place where all of the talent has submissions. If this conflicts with a rule of this forum, mods please inform me, and I will adhere to your protocol.

Until next time,

I've sent you a sample of my voice through e-mail.
Please be sure to check your spam folder, it might be there since I attached an item to the mail.

First off, I'd like to thank everybody for emailing. I'm really impressed with what I've been hearing!

Gentlemen, it was great hearing your samples/submission. Truly fantastic work!

Please email me if I haven't responded to you, as I'm pretty sure I got everybody. That said, no matter who the client ends up picking, I think you've ALL done a fantastic job. I just wanted you guys to know that. Keep 'em coming! I'll post *CAST* when the client picks one, so if you're reading this, and it doesn't say *CAST*, it's still open. Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing your submissions!

Awesome job, guys! I really can't believe the stuff I'm getting. Thanks a million! That said, we still haven't cast the position yet, so get your submissions in if you haven't already. The deadline that has been imposed now is Tues, Jun 19, 2012. That means, I need to have my finalists ready for client approval on Monday, the 18th. If you can't submit until after then, you should probably just wait for the next one. Either way, thanks a million guys, and I'll keep you posted!

Hi guys! Sorry for the delayed responses, as one of my workers called in sick because his wife went to the hospital, so I covered. Worked 30 hours in a two day period, so I didn't have time to email scripts to those who hadn't gotten them before this all happened. You have my sincerest apologies, and I've since replied to every person that has emailed. If you still haven't gotten a response, please email me back, and I'll send it over. I'm pretty sure I got them all though. Thanks again, and great work everybody!

Alrighty, I have all of the submissions that have been sent so far, and they are pending client review. At this point, I'd consider the submission stage to be over (unless the client isn't sold on any that have been submitted). If that happens, I will promptly re-open the submissions, and go from there. That said, you've ALL done an amazing job, and I really am impressed with the level of talent here. I wish you all the best, and really do wish I could just hire you all! I'll make sure to keep this place dog-eared for future opportunities. Thanks again, guys!

-----NEWS-----

The client has decided on a VA. I'm not sure the protocol here is, but there were a BUNCH of amazing submissions, and the clients were very impressed with the quality of the recordings. Unfortunately, there was only room for one VA here, so they had to make a tough decision. I'd like to take the time to personally thank *each* and *every* one of you for your fine contributions to our project. You were all of tremendous talent, surpassed by none, and matched only to your courtesy and diligence. I can say with no trepidation whatsoever that if Z-Shift needs ANY voice over work, this board will be a first stop. Thanks to all involved (the 'winner' has been contacted and paid). Best of luck to you all! I can honestly say there are people here with BRIGHT futures ahead... ;-)

Regards,
