Sonic XD: The Parody Series (An Update to DarkSonic's Sonic X Abridged Thread)

(UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 15TH, 2012): Hey guys. I'm still having a hard time in school and life in general. And unfortunately, that means that Sonic XD is still on hold. I do plan to start the project up again by December 12th, which is when I go home for the holidays for about 6 weeks. Although this project is still on hold, I am no longer going to freeze the audition periods. With that said, instead of having 1 month to audition, you now have 2 months for each audition period starting January 1st, 2013. So for the remainder of this year's audition periods, November and December, will now be one audition period. The November/December audition period ends December 31st, 2012 (if we survive the Apocalypse, lol). Good luck!

Also, I'm looking for editors! At least 6 total; 3 audio editors and 3 video editors. More details about that are posted later in this post.

I do appreciate everyone's patience when it comes to how long it's taking the first episode to be made. Thank you all so very much.

Hello everyone! For those of you who might know, DarkSonic made a thread about a Sonic X Abridged project he was working on. (This was the original thread:

(He's still part of the project, just not as the director of the project.) I've changed the name of it from Sonic X Abridged to Sonic XD: The Parody Series. We (being DarkSonic and I) thought this name for it would sound a little more original rather than having it just be ANOTHER abridged series.


To participate, you'll preferably need to have a Skype account (since that's the main way we've been comminicating). EDIT: Preferably, you'll also need a good-quality mic. You don't have to have a big, fancy professional one, just DON'T USE the internal mic. If you have a Skype (which you'll probably need for this series, if you don't we can accomidate), you're more than welcome to do a live audition.

Anyways, we've got almost all if not all the main characters casted, but there are still a good handful of characters that still need to be casted. They are as follows:

-Helen (younger and older)
-any voices with particular accents (Asian, Mexican, Russian, Arab, German, ect.) <---- Anybody can audition for this one!

VIDEO/AUDIO EDITORS: I am ESPECIALLY looking for editors for this project. I still want to be doing most of the editing. But with how long it takes me to do some of it, I need some help. I need at least 6 editors; 3 video editors and 3 audio editors. If you'd be interested in doing some of the editing, please post a post in this thread or send me an email. If you'd like to show me some of your work, please do so.

ANIMATORS: I am also now currently looking for animators for side projects that tie in with our series. I'd do the animations myself (since I'm going to school to become an animator), but I'm only a TRADITIONAL animator, so I need someone(s) who can do computer animation and potentially match the style consistant with the anime's. Now, some of the characters listed aren't in any of the current 78 episodes of Sonic X, but that's because in Sonic XD, we're touching upon other areas of the Sonic universe as well. Also, minor characters might be assigned based on your auditions.

Hey guys sorry I haven't been on in a while. I had some personal stuff I needed to take care of, but now I'm back! Remember, the next deadline for auditions is August 31st! So keep sending in those auditions. And starting on September 1st, I'm going to post a list of characters that are extras for a spin-off show that's going on along side Sonic XD, called The Team Chaotix Q-&-A Show ...Plus Shadow. It's with Vector, Charly and Espio of Team Chaotix...including Shadow the Hedgehog *cough* *cough*....as they interview various guess such as Team Rocket (who we have mostly casted except for Casedy and Butch) as well as various other cartoon and anime characters (in particular ones from other shows done by 4kids). Some of the guest characters are from shows such as Pokemon, Winx Club, One Piece, Magical Do-Re-Mi, F-Zero (possibly), Dinosaur King (possibly), Spongbob Squarepants (probably only with Plankton unless we find good voices for some of the other characters), Zatch Bell, Full Metal Alchemist, MAR, etc.

Again, I shall post this list of the characters we would be looking for app. September 1st (since I am going back to college that week so I am going to be very busy).

Anyway, I just moved back into my college dorm room. There's still 5 days left for this month's cast list. I shall hopefully post the results ON THE 1ST OF SEPTEMBER if and only if I am not entirely burried under piles and piles of homework. (Classes here have been notorious in giving homework on the first day of school.) If I do get backed up (which is highly likely due to it being my Sophomore year and because of my major), I will let you guys know in which case I shall allow for a brief extention of the auditioning period for that month. (This of course would also result in a brief delay in the updating of the cast list.) In the meantime, please keep sending in your auditions.

Hi everyone. Now that things have finally settled down a little bit here at school, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. Due to all the drama over the past 2 weeks, I'm now REALLY behind in my school work. So I'm canceling this month's audition period. It'll pick up again October 1st. There haven't been any auditions for this month yet anyway. However if you send in your audition to me for this month, I won't be reviewing it until October 1st. So for the October Cast List, you guys have all through the month of October as well as the rest of this month to audition, but auditioning for the September Cast List has been cancelled. Hey guys. It's been a while. Unfortunately, I've bitten off way more than I can chew at the moment. I'm still really behind in school. I've been sick with I don't even know what. The doctors ran some tests to see if there was anything wrong, but they came back negative. I've been falling asleep in class due to staying up all night every night of the week.

So due to events beyond my control, I am sad to say that the October Audition Period has also been cancelled. We who are working on Sonic XD already will resume all functions hopefully by November 1st. You can do the same things I said when the September Audition Period got cancelled. If you have auditions for me from September and now October, please still send them to the email back in the first post in this thread. But please keep in mind that they won't be reviewed until approximately November 1st.
