UPDATE: 6/11/12: Both female voices have been cast! Congratulations to littletophatgal for landing both the roles of Les and Kiki. Auditions for Jed and Roscoe are still open, though I will also be contacting many of those who have already auditioned for them with suggestions towards what I'm looking for.
I'm about to start work on an indie Flash series I've been brainstorming about for several years now, and need voices for the four leads. The setup is that you have four characters in a far-off sci-fi universe. Two of them are sisters (One young adult and one child), one is a humanoid young adult alien, and one is an old robot. The four of them operate a small traveling temp work agency, and get caught up in all sorts of crazy jobs and adventures. Here are the designs and bios for each character.
Jed

An alien whose species mostly looks human, except for the fact that they have small symbiotic squid thingies growing out of their heads. He and his brother Jim (The squid thingy, voiced by yours truly) have been traversing across the galaxy for years, taking various jobs and without any goals in life. When he sees the plight of the two sisters, he decides to help them out - as well as take advantage of the fact that he won't have to pay his bills all by himself any more.
Personality-wise, Jed is very laidback (His eyes are perpetually half-lidded), sometimes lazy, often sarcastic, and sometimes inconsiderate and seemingly cold. Still, he is good at heart, and will never let those he cares about fall into danger.
Voice type: Medium to low. Shouldn't sound very old, but not too young either. Physically, he's the equivalent of someone in their mid-twenties.
Lines:
(Cocky/sarcastic/humorous) "I pride myself on being lazy. Some of my heroes were full-time couch potatoes."
(Dry/bitter) "No, of course I don't need any help doing this hard labor that more than one person can do. That should be obvious."
(Urgently) "Jim. Jim! Wake up, man. I need you here."

A young human adult, Les is bright, hard-working, but easily stressed out and sometimes irritable. She's fallen on hard times with the recent loss of her parents and is running a struggling repair company with her sister, as she has a fascination with technology and graduated with a degree in mechanics not too long ago. She is reluctant to venture into other jobs at first, but Jed's confidence (And the fact that he's surprisingly capable of these numerous jobs) convinces her to sink some personal funds into a ship and form a joint business.
Les may be the glue that holds the group together. She is the most frequently level-headed and reasonable, and tries to do both what is right and what is best for her little sister. Still, she is sometimes high-strung, and Jed's various antics drive her up the wall at points.
Voice type: High to medium. Should be a voice that can switch between being gentle and stern to suit the situation. Should also be warm and inviting when kind, and determined and strong when angry.
Lines:
(Irritable) "Uuurgh! Kiki, put these back for now. I think I need to get some things straight with our new friend Jed."
(Gentle/apologetic) "Kiki, don't take what Mr. Flankers said about you to heart. Nobody should treat someone as gentle as you like that.
(Happy/excited) "I can't believe it! You got me a sonic flux inducer? Thanks so much! This will be great for my next project!"

Les's 10-year-old sister. Depending on the kind of person you are, you can either view her as a sweet little girl (Les) or a neverending annoyance (Jed). Forced to drop out of school and help Les as an assistant to make ends meet, she cares less about the joint business her sister and Jed form and more about Jed himself. Turns out she has developed her first serious case of puppy love for the new roommate. She's kind, optimistic and adorable, but her eagerness to get involved in everything sometimes leads her into trouble.
Kiki is often bubbly and optimistic, but being a child, is prone to emotional outbursts. She is enthusiastic to the point of not thinking ahead sometimes, but almost always has good intentions at heart, and cares for everyone else greatly. It's not hard to make her cry sometimes, though.
Voice: High. Doing a convincing child voice is a must. Should be able to sound enthusiastic and full of energy often, but also switch between multiple emotions and moods.
Lines:
(Happy/flirty): "Jed, that was soooo sweet of you to catch me like that! I mean, sure, you threw me right afterwards, but I might have landed on the floor and gotten a nasty bruise! You're just so heroic!"
(Sad/quiet): "Nobody likes me. I'm nothing but trouble for Les. She's sad, and it's all my fault!"
Also send a few seconds of both giggling and sobbing, because I need those to sound natural as well and she does both often.
Roscoe

An ancient service robot from eons ago (He came with the crew's ship in the broom closet), Roscoe is a unit that holds up remarkably well - he can cook, he can clean, and he gets along with all three of the others. He rarely goes out with the crew on the crazy adventures they keep getting mixed up in, but sometimes has adventures of his own.
Roscoe is a sweetheart, who is always willing to talk with each member of the crew about their problems, but his personality (And lack of any real defensive parts) make him a bit meek and unsure what to do in dangerous situations - which is precisely why he doesn't try to take place in many of them.
Voice: High-ish? It should sound sort of geeky, but not in a plug your nose and talk nasally kind of way. He should sound perky, enthusiastic, and talkative, but also able to speak gently when the situation calls for it. Watch the test episode below to see what I mean.
Lines:
(Happy/excited) "Ah, you're back! To celebrate today, I made my famous muffins! I thought it being an Earth delicacy, you two might especially enjoy it!"
(Scared/meek) "L-l-look, stay back! I'm warning you! I've got a frying pan and I'm not afraid to use it!"
(Gentle/understanding) "Listen. I know things seem bad right now, but I can tell you I've seen situations even worse that still turned out okay. I believe in you, and I know you can overcome this."
I did a test episode of Spacious way back in 2008 for practice, and you can watch it to get an idea of what these characters are like to some degree. The most recognizable voice of the bunch is Rina-chan as Kiki, but I feel that her voice isn't convincingly childlike enough. The VA I had for Les got the gentle part down right, but she seems to have vanished from voice acting boards. Jed got the cockiness down, but I think nowadays his voice should be a little deeper. Roscoe is pretty close to how I want him to sound, but I had him done by a friend who typically doesn't do much voice acting.
