Hello. If you haven't already known, I have a large number of audio projects in production now. However, work on Dick Tracy has been slow, and War of 1000 Insects is, as of now, a short 4 episode series, although I have several ideas for future sequels to this series. But I've always been fond of the childish adventures like the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Chronicles of Narnia, Peter Pan, etc., and how wacky and magical they can be while retaining a moral (Alice in Wonderland was about politics, Narnia was about religion, Peter Pan was about a wish to never leave childhood, the Oz series- the first one in particular- being about looking beyond the veil) so I decided to do my own in the style of these famous forebearers, much in the style that my War of 1000 Insects series compares to Watership Down or Redwall...
All auditions should be titled "yourname_rolename_linenumber_fantastika.mp3"... MP3 is preferrable, but WAV is also allowed. Auditions should be sent to comictree@yahoo.com, and everyone will at least get one role in the series. There's probably 45 roles total... Auditions are not due until July 10th, due to another miniseries being currently mixed...
PLOT: Louise Marcelle is a young French girl who has beentransported into a wonderful new world, filled will lollipop trees, friendlyfaces, and a colorful and witty world of humor. However, her new world isn’twhat it seems, as in an instant the place can change from a land of yourbiggest fantasies to a hellscape of your worst nightmares. She meets suchcharacters as the Glass Giant, the Gargoyle, the Kindly Cyclops, the Lamb, andJack in the Box. But in the other world of Fantastika, these creatures suddenlyturn for the worst. Why are all these new acquaintances suddenly turning against her? Who is this mysterious guardian angel? What lies at the center of Fantastika that she must learn about? And, most importantly, why is she there? The answers may surprise you greatly. *Note: Only cast members get to know the reason why... let's just say it's from a dark place...*

The Narrator- Any Gender, Any Age, Any Voice
The all knowing narrator of the series. Praise be to this dude. He frequently comes in describing the scene, the action, and of course the zany look of the characters.
"Louise looked around in awe, barely containing her mixed emotions of excitement and fear. She was afraid because she was not in the bed she was so used to, but she was also excited at the beautiful terrace of foliage around her. For some reason, the sky had the pinkish hue of freshly spun fabric and the grass was a deep blue color."
"This man who the Cobbler addressed as The Wise Beardling was an odd one indeed. He was hunched and very scrawny, but still wore a very loose fitting robe, the tail of which trailed several feet behind him. The strangest thing about him was his beard. It covered his entire face, and there were eight spiky strands poking out in all directions, so that his head looked like a very white sun."
Louise Marcelle- Female, 8-12, high pitched
She is the heroine of the series, young, inquisitive, thoughtful and caring, she slowly has to change her world view in order to survive.
"My, what a strange beard that fellow has! Does he even have a face under it?"
" [Scared, after the transformation of the characters] What? No! Please, you said only a moment ago that you were my friends!"
Glass Giant- Male, ??? years old, booming low voice
He is a fatherly figure and the wisest person in the southeast corner of Fantastika. He is one of the few who cannot be changed by the darkness.
"Hello, young child. I see your eyes glance across this world in wonder, so therefore you must be new. Tell me, how did you come upon this place?"
"[Grunting with effort] Hold back, child! I can fend off these ne'erdowells with my might... but only for so long! They have made my foot begin to crack!"
The Little Stone Men- Male, ??? years old, medium-low voices
They are the protectors of the Glass Giant, and take great care not to accidentally break him. They are also invulnerable to the darkness.
"Hello, child. Are you here to see the Glass Giant? If you are, he's over there, no not there, there!... no... I'm sorry, I cannot see, for my eyes are made of stone."
"[With fright] WAAAAH!"
Cobbler- Male, 55 years old, medium voice
A timid Cobbler who does not know how to dress properly. Finds a challenge in trying to make shoes for the Glass Giant, and gets easily frustrated or goes quite mad.
"Yes, girl, have you never tried to cobble a 20 foot long loafer, have you not? I believe everyone has, or everyone should try. In fact, everyone should try to try to cobble! For you see, trying is one of the few things you know will happen... oh, here comes the Wise Beardling. Be sure to wave very frantically, his eyesight has been getting terrible lately."
" [With a hint of malice] There's the girl! Quick! Get me my cobbling hammer! ...step aside, Giant, or prepare to die."
Turkey- Nonspecific, Medium High Voice
The Turkey is the fastest runner in all of Fantastika, and challenges everyone to a race. He gets insecure quickly, and becomes very upset when Louise beats him.
"[Whining] No fair, no fair! You went with shoes on! You were already an inch ahead of the starting line! Do-over!"
"[Evil]Glass Giant, surrender the girl or die!"
The Wise Beardling- Male, 70+ Years Old, Medium Low, Croaking Voice
An old, wise teacher who is well versed but believes himself to be a wizard. He is overwhelmingly silly and the hair in his eyes has made him a very clumsy, delusional old man.
"Oh yes, child. I have trained myself in many of the mythical texts: The Guide to Wyverns, Alchemists Monthly, How To Train Your Boggart- a personal favorite of mine... just watch, see that tree over there? Oogledy boogledy, biggledy boo! ...aha! See?! It moved .0000001 inches! I am truly a powerful mage to be able to move such a grand oak tree that far!"
"[Angrily] Shibbledy boppledy beepledy bones!!! ...curses, why doesn't my spell work? ...oh well. [Pulls out cutlass]"
Guardian Angel- Male, ??? Years Old, Medium High, Soothing Voice
A mysterious guardian angel who comes to Louise when she runs away. He soothes and comforts her and sends her on a quest to stop this dark corruption.
"Hush, young girl. I am not changed, like the others. They used to be such good people, but now they are all gone now. Thanks to the dark corruption and those who control it..."
"Young child, there are many other places in this land of Fantastika, and it is your duty to explore the caverns at the center of Fantastika and stop the creature who is causing this destruction..."
Melting John- Male, ??? Years Old, Medium, Nasally Gangster Accent
A cruel, mean snowman who is trapped within the Frigid Forest, with his group of snowmen raiding all who enter its borders. He is one of the few who is cruel before the arrival of the dark powers.
"Hey, hey, there, lady. Can ya spare a dime for a poor little fella in need?"
"Hey, it's that girlie again! Time to get revenge!"
