Synopsis
“Sho Fukamachi, a young school boy, discovers a mysterious metal object. A blinding flash, and Sho finds that he has accidental fused with the GUYVER, an alien bio-armour of unlimited power. To save the life of his friend Mizuki Segawa, Sho must battle the Chronos corporation and their biomorphic creatures, the Zoanoids. Only the power of the Guyver can stop Chronos' plan to conquer the world, but can Sho stand up to the power of Chronos' own mysterious female Guyver II”

Guyver Out of Control is an animation from 1986, which unlike it's later incarnations, never received an English dub or an official UK release. Now Rogue Productions are pleased to announce we will be the first to dub this gem of an animation.

This is a one off OVA and one of the original Hyper Violent Animes from the 80-90s, running a estimated length of 50 minutes. Rogue Productions will be dubbing the OVA in its entirety. There is a questionable transformation. With some deliberation I have decided to keep the transformation, however it will be edited to a small degree due to the nature of the scene.

I would like to thank all those that have auditioned for the project for the last few months! The full cast list is up, and the production in now 85% complete. We are only waiting on a pair of character that we recently cast/recast, a few folley lines and I need to make some audio level adjustments. We are hoping to get this production out in August, so everyone please look forward to it!

Hi Jinjuuryuu, thanks for the interest! With the accents I would prefer an American accent but~ feel free to give what you would like a try. The reason I haven't included direction on the voices, and instead used character descriptions is because I want the actors to really make the role their own. There are three chances at each character, so feel free to make an OTT one and a 'safe' one, that's fine. I hope that helps.

Sooooo... Chronos is in a boat... Guyver 2 is a woman and Guyver 3 teleports!? No wonder this got dropped! Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty cool but they changed so much stuff! Oo I prefer the recent 26 episodes! :P

Thanks for providing the link Jinjuuryuu. I did have it in the original audition post, but edited it out with a few other details as the original post was quite long. So thanks for brining that back to people's attention. I would like to make a reminding note that Guyver 2's bonding scene will be ever so slightly altered in my version. I hate edited Anime, but I have to think about the rules of the VAA forum and YouTube.

In regards to comments on the OVA.
The boat is actually a camouflage, Chronos is under the harbour half underground/half under the water, with the boat housing some minimal operations/cells. They've actually introduced the female Guyver 2 into the Manga now too. Technically she's Guyver 2, but she's the forth Guyver to appear. I think they reconstructed Lister's unit and gave it to her. But with the Manga not being released by any company in English now and a big thing about it getting taken off the net after a certain chapter, it's hard to get full details on what happened in the Manga (or at least since the last time I looked). The teleport was a bit random though lol.

This is classic Anime, a lot of times with OVAs in the past they tried to rush to put a lot of stuff in a small time due to constricted budgets. Usually the OVA was used as a trial to see if there was a market for the product. Old Anime OVAs are sometimes cheesy, there's errors, and sometimes the story is a little lack-lust but I do love these old Anime. After all they're what spawned the market of today. Guyver Out of Control was kind of typical around the 1980s, and shows a shift in what Anime was at the time, becoming more mature audience orientated.

Rogue Productions is dedicated to dubbing retro Anime that never received an English dub, bringing old gems to the attention of a new audience whilst giving actors a chance to test their skills. So that's why I chose Guyver Out of Control over the newer series. As a side note, the next Rogue Productions project is still in the 80s, but I feel is quite a leap forward over Guyver. However I am having trouble finding a RAW. That's the trouble with solely dubbing retro Anime I suppose. I may have to change my mind on which project I'll be dubbing after Guyver.

Argh, but I'm going off topic now. Needless to say, whilst it isn't as 'perfect' as newer Anime, I think this adds character to the Anime, especially with the effort put in with hand draw animation. But I assure you it will still be great fun and a challenge to perform in.

Just a bump and a quick reminder.

There are only 13 days left until the audition deadline. We've had some great auditions from the guys, really impressive. However we still need female roles filling for the dub.

Valcuria is an especially strong character, and one of the lead roles that needs filling, which I'm sure anyone would have a great time playing.

Mizuki is a very cute and fun character to play, with a nice chunk of dialogue and a potentially fun monster encounter to perform.

For those that aren't looking for such a large role, the Doctor and End Narration offer a nice little chunk of dialogue. And one shots? Mother is quick and Screaming Girl is great for those wanting to practice a horrified scream of gut wrenching dread lol.

If we're still struggling for girls come the 25th I will start scouting, as extending the deadline is a last resort at this time.

They're coming along well at the moment. Still need more auditions for the female roles, but we've had great performances from the guys that have auditioned. I'm really impressed by everyone's efforts and I'm looking forward to working with everyone.

I'm also grateful for the support displayed by those auditioning too, it's really great to hear. Sorry if I'm kinda all over the show at the moment, I have a migraine and took some strong painkillers that kinda make me feel a little drunk...sadly they've not taken the pain completely away ¬_¬.

Agh, false alarm. Yes it is the 20th. Though I did intend to set it to the 15th. I must have forgotten to change the date in my rough type-up. A little iritiating really, as it means it'll take longer to get the Dub out. But I won't change the date to the 15th, as that would be unfair. So the end date will still be the 20th, which will give you some time to audition.

The deadline for lines is the 30/06 however I may have to extend this to the 07/07 as some people have been having trouble the past month.

As for DRI-S01L008, the change you made was fine. Originally he was supposed to be aggrivated, hence why he was hasily rambling on with himelf. I'll email you with more details about the lines you sent me though.

Yet he is a big part for the OVA, being one of (if not) the main bad guy, at least in terms of amount of screen time/lines.

Usually I leave actors up to their own devices when auditioning, to see their take on a character. However time is limited, and I need a Makishima. I won't just jump at anyone, but I will give a bit more character and voice detail than I usually would.


He appears in his 40's and has quite a deep commanding voice.
He is power hungry and only cares about his position.
Very cold, he purposefully drove his brother and sister-in-law to suicide with no remorse.
Calculating, and usually able to think his way out of most problems. However once he starts being put under more and more pressure by Valcuria he begins to lose his composure. Eventually breaking down when he loses everything.
Break down scene is very extreme with lots of sinister anger (not all shouting but bouts of it), and maniacal laughter.
