Final Fantasy VII: The Event of the Decade

Based on a fanfiction I found a while ago, I figured an audio drama of something like this would be a good place to start. There's no action, no fan-characters, it's just a wedding story for Cloud and Tifa (Clerith shippers beware).

A friend's working on the script and, with all the characters in place, I figured I'd start casting. I'll need female voices because they're kind of the main focus of the story.

Here are the characters (some will probably only be cameos, though). If you haven't heard some characters, Google/YouTube them.

-Cloud Strife (early twenties, hard life but has moved past it)
-Tifa Lockhart (same age as Cloud, bit brighter and more reserved)
-Yuffie Kisaragi (late teens, upbeat, energetic)
-Barrett Wallace (middle age, big guy, gruff, but nice under that)
-Cid Highwind (adult, grouchy, southern accent, swears a good bit)
-Cait Sith (adult, cartoony, Scottish/Irish accent)
-Marlene (7-10 yrs old, polite, typical little girl)
-Denzel (10-12 yrs old, looks up to Cloud, typical boy his age)
-Vincent (mid-20's, pretty quiet, throaty voice, broody)
-Mrs. Turnpike (50's, willing to do what's right, brief appearance)
-Elmyra Gainsborough (40s-50s, Aerith's foster mother, kind, willing to do work where it's needed)
-Reeve Tuesti (40s, businessman-like, friend of the group)
-Red XIII (20s, throaty voice, silent but wise, brief appearance)
-Shera Highwind (adult, Cid's wife, swears when she's upset, but kind, pregnant)
-Father Frank (in his 60's, wise, fatherly priest, only fan-character)

MP3 demos would be preferable, there will be no "first-come-first-served" treatment, and I can't promise more than a copy of the completed project.

Note taken, here you all go. I did say that the story is about Cloud and Tifa's wedding, but I guess I should have gone into more detail.

The story consists of the proposal, the preparation, the event, and the aftermath of the wedding. It tells of the problems that are encountered, how they're solved, and how Tifa (and Yuffie) interact with the other characters as a result. There's no action, no villain, no limelight-hogging fan-characters, it's just a simple wedding story. I figured it'd be a good place to start.

Noted. I'll look at it later, but if you could do a few audition lines with that voice in mind, it might have a better chance of getting my attention.

The script is still under works, though. A friend of mine is working on it and, even if I get it, I want to fine-tune it to make sure it's how I would envision it.

I saw one guy's peeve when it comes to the voice industry and I think it could fit here, too. His peeve was that people only tried out for one character (often the main role). I feel that that kinda fits here with a few people trying out for Cloud and Tifa. While I know that the main characters are important, I think it better for people to put their vocal range to the test and voice other characters.

In other words, consider it a point to make and a challenge.

Hate to bump, but I have a few things to bring up.

One is that I'm kinda surprised people aren't springing for Yuffie. From most demo reels I listen to, the energetic female character seems to be the most popular (I think we've all had a friend like that). I doubt it'll be a problem, but it is a bit of a surprise to me considering she has some pretty funny lines in the script.

Two is that I'm in a fix. I need someone to play older women ranging from mothers and soon-to-be mothers to older customers at Tifa's bar, that and boy voices for Denzel (despite how small the lines are).

Three is that the script, after a few edits, I feel is presentable enough. Odds are that it'll change after some time, but I think people might get the gist of it when they read it. I'll post a link later.

I guess I can see your angle on this. To be fair, though, I don't really expect a perfect imitation of the characters' actors. Someone auditioned for Tifa and, though she was far from Rachael Leigh Cook, I thought she did a good job reciting her lines and keeping with Tifa's character. Just do what feels natural when you think about the character.

Could you please provide some lines so we know what we have to work with for the characters? I mean, this might be based off a fanfic, but that doesn't help. I mean, we could be reading from the phone book, and we could say that was our audition, you know what I mean?

I recently realized that I'm in need of incidental characters of both genders, maybe some crowd effects.

Here are some lines for both men and women. Parenthese basically say "No specific line. YOU decide!)

Women:
-(fawning and asking about details like the ring, the engagement, and whatnot)
-Wedding of the decade more like!
-Yeah, come on, Tifa. You always provide us with good food and drink. It’s about time we did something for you.

Men:
-(something about the precious barmaid being taken, grumbles, veiled threats, to just frustrated groans)
-Yeah. You’ve always helped us. It makes sense to return the favor.
-We could all come over here for dinner and drinks. (crowd goes for general agreement)

Both:
-(Some sniffle and sob quietly) *Probably more women, but with a few men for comedic effect

Hate to bump, but scouting talent is getting kind of difficult. Most people I've tried to contact have either not responded or spoken their interest, but not contact me.

I've also run into both an old problem as well as a few new ones. First problem is, again, most of the characters are women. I've received my fair share of male auditions, but only two female auditions.

The second is the matter of age. There are older women in this thing, children, and a sixty-year-old priest. Most people who have auditioned have acted (for lack of a better word) young. It's not really getting my hopes up when that's their real range.

And last, but certainly not least, I am looking for some crowd auditions (see above post for guidelines).

Yes. It was originally September. But, with my new job and the low number of auditions for some of the characters, I may have to change it to some point at the end of the year, maybe early 2013. This might change if I suddenly get a vast number of what I'm looking for.
