You can find mine in my signature, it links right to the YouTube page. If it's not up yet, it's because I literally just posted it, lol. I do a bunch of different characters, but mostly in the same voice range. I haven't acted too much, and constructive criticism is much appreciated.

Derpy me, haha. There we go, fixed and I hope that it'll be ready to view for people. I hope it's not too awful, haha.

It's your first reel so you shouldn't worry about being awful you just need to focus on learning.

Ok number one this is going to get flak because it's a character reel, I too have made the mistake as you can see in my demo and was corrected numerous times. Also next reel you make do your best to make it 30-1min long. Anything higher will get flak as well.

2. I enjoyed your intro as the frog your voice is quite enjoyable for that character if a tad restrained.

3. I liked your voice for Spike but when it came to yelling you restrain yourself again. If you're going to incorporate yells or screams you gotta do it. Silent yell/screams sound extremely superficial.

4. I like the voice you have but a lot of your characters have no difference in them. The voice you did for Spike is the same for the guy from Trigon.

All in all I think you can improve by acting out more, have more energy, and use more differing voices. For example your frog voice at the beginning was vastly different then the other characters you had which was good. But next reel you make focus on trying to do original characters and your acting capabilities.

I look forward to seeing how you improve!

Thanks for the feedback! This confirms what I had a feeling on about myself and my voice. I have a hard time "unchaining" my voice. I don't yell IRL, and I find it incredibly difficult to do so without restraining myself when I try and act. I also kind figured my voice doesn't have much range, so I'll have to stick to the medium-low/low end of the spectrum, I think. Basically, that's what it is for me right now: learning to yell and finding my range. Would you agree with my assessment?

Absolutely. Yelling/Screaming is a difficult thing for many VA's especially beginners to finally do. And yeah I myself am a natural low so I do my best to do characters that show off that range. So when going for things do what fits you most comfortably.
