I just recently produced my very first demo reel. Since I'm relatively new to this I thought I'd ask the general voice-acting public what they thought about it. Any tips on voice acting, producing of demo reels, equipment, etc?

Thanks guys!

The mix in dynamics from personality to personality is a great showcase of your versatility!

On the tech side, consider EQ'ing your voice differently for each segment so it sounds like you have gone to different studio's and used different mic's to recored each character. Right now it sounds like one mic with varying music beds underneath. Sometimes it helps to produce each segment in a different project file all together first. Then, bounce each segment into a master project and blend each voice demo together just like if they were spliced from an actual show. Make sense?

Just an idea...

Not too bad for your first demo. You showed an interesting array of emotion, but I felt that your happy/excited sounding ones were clumped too much in the beginning. I also thought that you tended to rely more on your medium-high voices, so maybe work on your range a bit.

I liked the line you included at 1:07, but it did seem a bit forced.

I also noticed this annoying...high pitched sound from the beginning all the way to the end, which I believe is your microphone. However, I could be wrong, but I did hear it in your intro.

Other than that, this was pretty good for your first demo (: Keep it up~

Haha, isn't that kind of cheating? XP But that sounds good. I didn't even think of that. Thanks for the advice!! :D

I did notice that I was using my medium high voice, mostly because I feel like my normal one is too boring and uninteresting :P But I definitely do need to improve on my range. As for the forced line at 1:07, I'll try to work on that-- my voice was getting a bit tired, so that might be why, but I'm also not very good at the whole coughy-panting thing. Thank you for the advice! Also, the annoying high-pitched thing is my mic, I really need to invest in a new one as soon as I'm no longer broke (darn those anime conventions!) so good ear!

Thanks again for your opinions!!
