PSY Comic Dub (3 Male, 1 Female Important Roles ; Plenty of Minor Roles too)

Hello every one! I'm here to tell you that I'm holding auditions for the dubbing of a wonderful webcomic called PSY. This comic is unknown to most which is a crime! Help spread awareness for this by helping out in the dub. DEADLINE IS NOW JUNE 9TH. I also suggest you read the comic to get a feel of what characters you'd like to dub. Which can be found here: http://chibidoodles.deviantart.com/gallery/25431163?offset=72 This is also probably necessary to read anyway, since I'd like your audition to be you reading some lines from the comic. And if you don't have time to read it, just email me telling me what characters you'd like to audition for and I'll send you some lines.

Here are a list of characters in order of importance with a small description.

Very Important-

May- Casted

Lucas-
May's best friend and neighbor. He is an energetic 14 year old who has the power of telekinesis. He is a person of grand emotions and can get very loud.
Voice type- Energetic, extremely happy
Preferred Actor Gender- Male, though I will consider a female voice actor.

Xavier-
A fellow student of May and Lucas, though he is 17. He also is a psychokinetic and attends Psy classes with the main duo. He is very intelligent and kind.
Voice Type- Intelligent, but also kind, easy going
Preferred Actor Gender- Male

Dr. Kai- Auditions Extremly Needed
He is the teacher for Psy and a powerful telekinetic. He seems a bit rough around the edges, but he really cares for his students. He is in his 20s to 30s.
Voice Type- Gruff, A tiny bit of an accent
Preferred Voice Actor- Male

Ms. Harroway- Auditions Extremly Needed
May's mean mentor. She is a very harsh old lady who is in charge of help May with her powers. She's very stern and cold and 60 somthin'.
Voice Type- Hash, sharp, and cold
Preferred Voice Actor- Female, preferably older

Other Characters-

May's Dad-
May's dad who loves her a lot, but can be stern for the sake of his daughter.

Psychic Board Chairman-
An older man who'd rather have May locked up instead of roaming free.

Mille-
President of the theater club at May's school and is good friends with Xavier.

Extras-

Tara and Mauri-
Two of May's friends.

Jerkface Bullies-
A bunch of guys who think that picking on 14 year old girls with low-self esteem is fun.

Background Classmates-
Nothing specific for this. Just random conversations.

Well, since this is a comic dub I figured people could read the comic and read some lines from that and so I left a link to the comic in the first post. But if you don't have time to do that, send me an email telling what characters you'd like to audition for and I'll send you some lines.

I really enjoy the characters, and I'm really glad you introduced me to this series. I read all four chapters and what of the fifth chapter is currently completed. I'm actually watching the artist now on deviantArt and really looking forward to the weekly updates. So even if I don't end up with any role, I'm just happy to have a new thing to look forward to each week, so thanks for that.

As far as the auditions themselves, I had a lot of fun with them.

With Lucas, I tried to capture that "bubbly, energetic 14-year-old" kind of personality. I did my best to match the tone of my voice to the facial expression given on the panel containing any given line. When listening back to my audition while reading the comic simultaneously, I think I did pretty well. There were a few places where I think I could've done better, but I usually feel that way about every line I do anyway. Haha! I just hope I did the character justice. (As an aside, I like how he gets jealous at Xavier; it's so obvious he has a school-boy crush on May. :P )

As for Xavier, it was a bit easier since I didn't have to strain as much being higher pitched and "excited" as I was with Lucas. Being the calm, cool, collected type that he is, I could more easily relate to him out of all the characters too, though he isn't my favorite (that honor goes to Lucas; he's just so funny). I think I did okay overall, but there was a section of Xavier's audition in particular that I can't listen to now without cringing, and that's his running scene. You never explicitly said anything about this, but since it was in the comic, I decided to record his expressions of shock after seeing the bullies' thoughts, along with his panting as he was running into the forest, as well as the heavier panting when he's leaning against a tree trunk trying to catch his breath. It's embarrassing to listen to for me, because out of the context of the comic, it almost sounds like something really inappropriate. Hahaha! I hope that part didn't catch you by surprise.

All in all, I had fun with this one. Regardless of if I get a part or not, I'm excited to watch the finished product. I know it's probably a long ways off, but it'll be really cool to read the comic with the characters given voices. I also hope this project gets the comic more exposure. I hear that the creator found a printing company and plans to print runs of it in the future, and I really want it to sell well. I know I'm definitely buying a copy when it's published. :D

2. Since the comic is still updating, I will hold auditions for major characters that are introduced! So there is still a chance if you don't get a part now.
