Pleeeeeeease tell me someone else here knows what para para is or actually does para para! It's a synchronized dance craze from Japan to Eurobeat music! I'm obsessed. . .I know 100s of dances. . .seriously! So, here's my one and only video (I think Blue Blue has a better video of me doing this song with Poli/Indira) of "Don't Wanna Lose You Baby" (it's more impressive when other people are doing it too). It's horrible quality cuz it was from my digital camera, not an actual video camera. Oh, and my boyfriend's cat, Fifi, makes a special (accidental!) appearance. Hope you guys like! Lemme know what you think!

I don't actually do ParaPara, but I do know of it. (Thank you Super Gals!)

Oh, and you were good btw. ^_^ And I love when the cat starts walking in XD

Correction: It WAS a dance craze in Japan.

About four years ago.

For six months.

Just sayin'. : /

Rasha, you are too cute! You're soooo good at parapara... and you totally have the tan/blonde/platform-shoe-wearing looks for it too. :D I tried to learn some routines, but I'm so uncoordinated. You've really got it down! A natural.

Matt Cruea-- oooh, burn! That was harsh, man. I lived in Japan five years ago, and I remember parapara being the epitome of coolness when I went clubbing. But now it's passe? Thanks for making me feel all old! ;) Hee!

I just always like to point that out whenever Para Para is mentioned.

So many other BeMani games outclass it. But that's my opinion.

Oh, no worries! I've never even played the game... just witnessed the phenomenon first-hand. It's, like, surreal. :)

Para Para Paradise is great! I really wish there was a machine where I lived though. Since there isn't, it hasn't given me much incentive to learn the moves of every song, but I do know a couple.

Old craze or not, some old crazes are just cool. Para Para is definitely one of them.

How cute! Yea, I also learned about Para Para through Super Gals! I love that anime! ^^

Anyway, you do have the look for it! Go you! I wish I knew cool dances... or how to dance...

If you see me on a dance floor, I'll never be without a broom! Always cleaning up after the party, never a part of it! ^^

Anyway, you're also very pretty!

You sure meet some different people on these boards! <-- not a rude comment but a statement.

Yeah, I'm the only guy on this board who does it. Unless Steve and Djeu post more often 8D

Ahem. . .okay, I meant para para in general. Para Para Paradise is the GAME version, and although I like to play the game (have the in-home version for my import PS2 and will have a machine once I get a basement. . .you can find em on eBay every now and then), I like the actual DANCES. . .there are 100s of them. . .besides what's on the game. . .they have tons and tons of videos. Anyway, I said Para Para Paradise cuz if I said just para para most people don't know what I'm talking about or think I'm speaking Spanish.

But really. . .anyone can do it! Even if you're not all that coordinated! I started off a while ago and I was horrible. . .I just do it about every day for exercise so I've just gotten better over time.

Thanks for all (well, almost all) your love and support, peeps! And. . .just something from another site. . .

"PPP was created in response to a revival of a decades-old Japanese trend called parapara. Parapara is a dance style which draws from some traditional Japanese forms of dance. In parapara, there's typically very little lower body movement; all the moves are performed with your hands. This doesn't sound terribly exciting, but once you get into it, parapara is actually a pretty challenging and fun experience."

It's not loading right :eh. You're just there in this sexy position, no movement... Reloaded it twice.. My god you have fine legs. I will be civil, Keep up the good work Rasha!

LOL. . .that video is sooo funny! It's a pretty slow song to para para to, but very cute!

Btw - LOVE that avatar, Velvy! Ulala's my heroine. . .I have a huge cardboard stand-up of her in my room at my parents' house. I always wanted to cosplay as her in the hot shorts! ^_^ Now, if only someone would sew me some shiny orange hot shorts. . .

Well, the song is not the original. I replaced the song with an english version. The Japanese version is way faster.

BTW- Thanx! My friend made it for me. That reminds me, I gotta make my own avatar T^T

Omg, how and when did you get the stand-up? If I found one, I'd get it like *snaps* that. ^_^ I adore Ulala as well. I'm making her default orange outfit to wear next month at AWA, and I got my friend Katie (who is on the boards and goes by, what else, Katie) into Space Channel 5 as well! She's making her default white outfit. :D

LOL. . .how can such a short, simple game be sooo addictive? Btw. . .Jaguar = yummy, ne?? <3_<3 Oh. . .the stand-up. . .I used to have a bad habit of collecting those and shoving them in my tiny room. When I got Ulala it was funny cuz it was many moons ago when I still lived with my parents and we were at the mall (on vacation I even think!) and there she was in a video game store. I begged if I could have her and they said yeah. . .so my dad carried her around the whole mall! It was hilarious. And whenever we'd go into a store, he'd put her down outside and stand there with her as if he was guarding her. . .and you should see my dad. . .he's was probably 65 at the time. . .grey beard and moustache. . .kinda looks like Sean Connery. Anyway, you had to be there, but it was funny! I'll take a pic of the stand up next time I go home. . .I can't seem to find a pic online of the pose she's in.
