This is a Tutorial of sorts built from FAQs that I and others get across the board about some of the basic forum features, functions and more. Most are easy to find but can be overlooked. So this is here to help out a bit more :) I'll add other things if I think of any or people have any suggestions.
For this I'm using the GreenFox Style, but everything is located in the same place on any style.
User Control Panel
The USER CP or Settings as it is called, is located in the top right-hand corner of the board and contains all the editing features for your account. These features are to control various sections of your account. I've listed the basic ones that most people use around here, and given info on what is in each of them.
My Profile
-Profile
Profile contains all the information that you choose to appear on your public profile (http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/member.php?50-Sukisho). Most all of it is pretty optional and can be changed at anytime.
-Custom User Title, is the title that appears below your Avatar when making a post.
- Home page is for your website
-Instant Messaging, will display your IM names not just in your profile but also below your avatar when posting on the forum.
The Additional information includes things like Voice Actor, Producer, Singer, Writer and such groups which you can add yourself to freely.
You can tell us about yourself in the VA Info. Choose to display weather you're available for scouting or not, your voice types, vocal range and other baisc info about yourself.
-Profile Picture
This is a feature that allows an image to appear in the side of your profile when people view it.
-Avatar
This is the Icon that appears in all of your forum posts.
-Signature
The signature is what appears at the bottom of each of your posts. It can contain words, links and images, but please do be advised that we like people to keep their signature images at a decent size (not exceeding 250px in height and 500px in width, as these things can be distracting or stretch the board)
-Privacy
Want some privacy or your profile? Well you can choose from various options here to make that work to your liking.
My Account
-Email & Password
Change you email and password at any time by going here.
-General Settings
Various options in here to make you board experience your own.
-Invisible Mode; use if you don't want others to see what you're doing.
-Messaging & Notifications
This allows you to change things like your PM set up. Don't want to get PMs? No problem, you can turn them off!
Like the Visitor messages but get annoyed by various posts? You can set who can post to your wall here.
Display Options: you can turn off and on the viability of avatars and signatures if they slow your computer down.
Change your forum viewing mode, how many posts you want to see on a page at one time.
Your Timezone/Date & Time options
-Permission Groups
This is again, the place that will list all of the groups that you're part of, if you choose any from the additional information in the profile editing (Producer, VA, Musician, Writers, Ect)
-Ignore List
Don't want to see things from certain people, or they are bothering you for whatever reason? Well you can easily go to this page and add their name into it and you will no longer see posts of their, get messages from them and so on.
Networking
-Friends & Contacts
An easy to use friend feature that lists all the people you added and who appear on your profile.
Contacting Users
If for some reason you don't know how to contact a member on the board or staff, an easy way to do that is to go over to a post of theirs and click on their name. A menu will appear and you can select the desired option (Private message, send an email, add them to your contacts, ect.)

Editing
The edit feature allows you to edit your post/thread information, delete, ect. It looks like this http://voice-acting.net/tutorial/VAA/EditButton.gif and is found in the bottom right-hand side of any post that is yours
http://voice-acting.net/tutorial/VAA/EditQuote.png
http://voice-acting.net/tutorial/VAA/EditingThreads.png
Clicking it initially will bring you into the quick edit mode (as pictured), where you can do quick edits and then just save. Though it only allows the basic options in the quick edit mode, other options such as changing the thread titles can only be reached when you hit "Go Advanced" which then takes you over to the Full Editing mode. In full editing mode you will have all of the editing features you had when you intially began to post a thread, such as the ability to once again Edit you thread Title.
Quick Thread Title Edit

Another way to quickly edit your thread titles besides using the editing method above is to find the thread in the forum listing and simply double-click the outside area (not the title link) and it will become editable.
Multi-Quote
http://voice-acting.net/tutorial/VAA/EditQuote.png http://voice-acting.net/tutorial/VAA/MultiQuote02.png
Along with the Edit button, there's also the Quote, Quick Reply and Multi-Quote. Multi-quoting is one that is over looked a lot. Since we really don't like people double posting around here, and there happens to be multiple people you'd like to replay to this feature helps a lot. Similar to the Quote button, it will copy anything that is selected in it into a quote, however, you can click the icon on multiple posts and then go to reply and it will have all of those in your reply. Once liked the icon will appear with a check mark as it does in the second image.
Reporting Posts
The http://voice-acting.net/tutorial/VAA/ReportButton.gif Button is a very nice thing to use as it helps the staff with problems that may arise throughout the forum (i.e. Spambots, Close/move threads). It's located in the left-hand corner of every post. So, please, if you see something strange, have a problem or what not, don't be afraid to press it.

Skin Selecting
The current board has two skins to choose from, the Default blue skin and then the GreenFox. Either can be selected easily by going to the board of any page and clicking in the drop down box.

This can also be changed by going to Settings (upper left hand corner) and clicking General then going down to the "Miscellaneous Options" section.-
