A little bit of poetry, inspired by The Rankins, "Leis an Lurgainn"

A normal journey.
That's what it was meant to be.
And yet now...
The tempest rocks our ship.
The waves crash, splashing,
Needles of ice seeming to hit us.

Our crew run across deck.
Their shouts are panicked,
Will they live?
The tempest tosses us like dolls.
The lightening strikes the water,
And thunder is all around us.

The dark is broken.
In the east, red sky.
The Sun is rising.
Our story isn't over yet --
We find courage in the rays
Of our Lord of the Day.

"Heave! Ho!"
Keep pulling the ropes.
Keep the sails flying.
"Heave! Ho!"
Keep our ship sailing.
Keep us all alive.

When we thought that night,
That we might all perish,
We were sustained.
The waves became calmer,
The clouds parted,
As we sailed onward to land.

Dawn has arrived,
We're alive
And we revel in the Sun.
We stand on deck,
Our experiences all the same,
Tempest-tossed from the storm.

Cheering rises from the crowd.
Some of them sing an old song,
A hymn of praise to a God.
We started out different,
Now, we are all the same --
All of us singing a similar boat song.

Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful!

Although, I must say that when I first read the title, I thought this was going to be the lyrics of the "Bannana Boat Song". "Daylight come, me wanna go home..."

Yeah. Must agree.. I love it. The storm feels like a metaphor for hard times. Its a wonderful piece.
