If anyone knows the addresses to some companies that accept voice demos, I would greatly appreciate it. Of course, I won't send anything until I get a decent microphone, but, please, if anyone knows, I would be really thankful. ^_^

just physical adresses or e-mail and all that other contact info?
I'll put some up later depending on the answer.

Well, wherever we can send demo reels, like to different dubbing companies, so I'd say, probably both.

If you are talking about submitting your demo to a company for equity work, save yourself a lot of trouble and wait...
I am saying this because unless your home system is pretty comprehensive and you have an actual recording booth, you'll be at a real disadvantage. FYI: Cost of a good demo is usually 350 - 500 dollars, about double that in LA or NYC. I see from your website that you've done some work, but I have to toss it out there anyway.
Having helped cast for VO work before (mostly commercial), believe me... the difference is really apparent. Unless you are a true phenom, your demo won't be given the attention it deserves if it looks and sounds like an amateur. If the copy you did in the past is pretty good, include it (obvious, but often overlooked)
As for where to submit, do you just want anime distributors (ADV, AnimEigo, CPM, etc.)? That is a really specialized market and is tough to get into... my recommendation is to cut your teeth by first going to the casting agencies in your area to find work doing industrials and commercial work. From there you can branch out once you have a few under your belt (despite doing quite a bit of AVA work, my first year doing equity VO work only got me a handful of gigs... until my name got out there a bit more).

Well I'd also like to know for maybe future reference? It would be useful so people wouldn't need to search for hours. Also, this forum could help out other people who are further in their career than me. Thank you.

Then wouldn't the recommendation to become familiar with the local casting agencies be an aid to that goal? Since a large number of these companies use casting agencies to initially find talent, that is the kind of information you probably want (sadly, I can't remember, else I'd list them... perhaps someone else knows that information? www.Okratron5000.com might a good place to ask though since that is Chris Sabat's place)
That said, to find a fair number of anime casting notices, the Ross Reports and Backstage can offer you a lot of the additional information you will need to get your demo to these studios when they are looking for new voices. :)
Cheers!

Thanks ^_^
Hate to break it to you, but a lot of those addresses are for US anime companies, not dubbing studios. The only two who do in house dubbing are ADV and Funimation, the rest always hire a studio to do the dubbing for them.
And those are the addresses you need, Ocean, Bang!Zoom, Animaze, NYAV Post, etc.

Merr,
but a lot of those studios don't do their own casting if I recall, right? Wouldn't it be better to list which casting agencies they use instead?
I know that I got my audition for a few anime series out of Ross Reports and Backstage, so I highly recommend them, despite the initial costs for the publications.

I wouldn't really know to be honest, but it probably is a good idea to list the casting agencies. You seem to have experience in this area.
I was referring more to the list posted by Seishiro, however you're idea of posting the agency addresses is seems to make the most since.
Ocean
http://www.crystalacids.com/database/recordstudio/
You can find Ocean's contact info on there. But requirement for working there is you have to be in the Union. :(
As for those places listed a few posts up, you still call them directly and tell them you are interested in doing Voice Over work and if they can give you the name and or number for what Talent Agencies they deal with.
Most of the people who answer are very nice and helpful!

well kitty's post got me thinking, so who here would find it appropriate and helpful if I called the aforementioned businesses and compiled a listing of the agancies they commonly deal with, depending on the response I just might. :|

To that end, how about making a sticky for all casting agencies, agents, recording studios, etc. that an aspiring VO might be interested in. I know that it would be a rather volumnous list if people put their heads together and provided a complete listing :)

truly I'm completly willing to do something like that, we could even have a team of (for lack of a better word) info hunters, also why isn't this a sticky yet...I wonder
Just some question Ideas that can be used for anyone who is ready to make the calls to Agencies once some numbers gets posted. (I'm such a nervous wreck when I makes calls like that) But these are some questions I have asked agencies when asking about submissions:
1.Is the Agency accepting any New Talents at this time?
2.Submission Requirements? (aside from demos will acting photos be required etc)
3.Who within the Agency do I address the submission to?
4. How soon can a follow up phonecall be made? or will they contact you?
hope this helps ;)

Let me or Nikki know when you have a new clean thread; We'll sticky it and close the other one.
Make sure the post has some kind of easy to follow structure, like...list them by type (Agency, Dub studio...etc).

So is there a need for Philadelphia and NYC info?
NYC I figure would be important, but not sure about Philly... before I spend the time going through my phonebook dragging out all the agents that I know of, but turned down in favor of others, someone please let me know.
Most of what I have is more for commercial VO, but then again there's not a lot of anime where I live, lol!
