Tohru(female) a young girl in high school who was recently orphaned when her mother died in a car crash. Not wanting to be a burden on her friends, she decides to live in a tent in the woods and finish school. The land on which she has set up her home belongs to the well-known Sohma family, and she is invited to live with the Sohmas, where she fills the role of cook and housekeeper.
