CHAPTER ONE
In the Beginning...

WARNING: Remember, usually the first chapters are a little boring, BUT, I can assure you, there will be PLENTY more action/adventure lurking in the depths of this story. Thank you so much for your interest, and without further adieu, I present to you ON THE EVE OF DEFEAT Ch. 1.

Ch. 1 Summary (NO SPOILERS, not really) xP :
It’s midday and Taylor Wilson and Michael Thune, two teen soldiers, are out on a dangerous mission. A mission to which they aren't assigned to. Taylor is aware of this but Mike is not. Cutting through heavy plants and shrubs, they proceeded forth on their quest to take down the Paragon Rebellion. Taylor knows that by going at this alone with Mike, they might not make it out alive, but they know this will raise a red flag for the Claymore Alliance. *(The Paragon Rebellion is known to be an evil organization. Having waged war on the Claymore Alliance, they have lost much; including Claymore’s strongest fighter. But if they can defeat Paragon and move in on their territory, the odds will be in their favor.)*The Alliance wasn’t planning to strike until dawn, but Taylor, as stubborn as she is, refuses to wait that long. She has a feeling something will go wrong long before then. Now is her time to attack. Michael, on the other hand, is under the impression that they are under the Lieutenant’s orders to venture out into the (now) Paragon’s territory, so he tagged along without hesitation. Armed with a World War II Fairbairn Commando Dagger and an 1873 Colt they struggle, making their way down the steep mountain on the way towards the Paragon Rebellion.
