View Full Version : NY Winter Meetup 2011 (Winter Edition)
So, the first thing you're noticing...I'm not Matt Alan.
I am however, someone who frequents Matt Alan, like usually, every weekend. This of course, gives me the right to post a thread in regards of Matt Alan con, namely because he's too lazy to do it.
We've discussed it, I'm sure he's discussed it with some of you. We need to set a time for a Winter meet up. Seriously, we're due. And I'll make more badges this time, hopefully enough to match the amount of people that chill.
Suggestions and best available time for people? I'm assuming the weekend would be the best.
Note to Long Island people. I drive out pretty much everytime I go out there. So if anyone wants to avoid an LIRR trip, I will be more than happy to pick you up on the way to Queens.
So yeah, let's uh...keep making this ego of his bigger....no shame.

That's what we're trying to figure out. It's probably going to just be a small meet up in the city or if smaller, then in Queens. Depends on the amount of people who want to get together and hang out in the area.
And this month or February is the intended target.

You know Matt well enough to know that he'll hold multiple "Matt Alan Cons" just to spread his "love".
But Matt and I have been wanting to get another meet up together soon, so basically, a Winter version of it. Trust me, he'll probably want to hold one for every season. So I'm sure his March 26th date still stands.
@Bree, I want to do it soon, so probably just during the weekend.
Which is why I posted it so we can collectively come up with a weekend that'll work haha. I don't have a good week+ vacation til July, I used it for Otakon.

That's what we're trying to figure out. It's the point of this thread to see everyone's availability and then work from there.
I planned to go into the city for my Birthday on the 18th, or the day after the 19th of February. It would make for an extra fun trip XD

Yeah, I won't lie, I planned (meaning Matt and I) planned a meetup or something during my birthday, but being the beginning of January, it just fails by default of placement. So we've been trying to figure out when the next time we all could get everyone together again and hang out.
The weekend of the 19th sounds fine. Should be enough time for people to adjust and come out. Have this be a smaller meet up, and then aim for the one in March to be like the first Matt Alan Con last summer.
Edit: Since Matt is planning a proper Matt Alan Con as it were, I'm changing the name of this thread title so there won't be any confusion lol. If I knew he was rushing out to do one in March (I knew he wanted to, but he didn't tell me he was setting dates haha).

Technically speaking, it's more of a smaller meetup for the hell of it. Matt apparently wants to aim for the end of March for the next official Matt Alan Con. But I guess even then you'd still be in school. Though I stand by my assumption that Matt would want to have multiple ones per year, so I'm sure they'll be another when you're out here haha.

I might be able swing a Spring Break visit, but that's the week before Matt is apparently planning for :T
EDIT: From reading Cydonia's post I though it was being planned for the 26th. I just now read about the 19th, so assuming I can come out for Spring Break again (March 18th - 24th) that would be a good day for me. I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE IF I CAN THOUGH.

Yeah...Could we possibly do it on the 12th instead. I'm planning on going to an anime convention (Katsucon) on the 18th-20th of February.

Well, Matt is planning something I believe for mid March.
This is more for something sooner than later. Especially since there's a good amount of us that live pretty close to one another.
For the ones outside of NY, the one in March would probably be the best choice, more on that when Matt actually makes his announcement about it, how he wants to plan it, etc.
@Bree, for the March one, you usually come with BRO right? Taking the LIRR?

That is Matt Alan Con. Basically, it's a meetup that is brought together by Matt Alan.
He's planning, from what I heard another one in March. He'll make an announcement about it on his own I figure.
This is just trying to plan a quick weekend meetup prior to that.
