AUDITION GUIDELINES
---

Audition Guidelines - General Auditions

I try to keep the guidelines simple, so following them shouldn't be too hard. Please follow them closely - if you don't, your auditions may get thrown out.

Extras will be cast based on auditions received for main characters.

Record the lines for the character you are auditioning for in 44.100 kHz, 16-bit sterio (CD-quality) or better (keep the filesize at a minimum).
Save your audition as yourname_linename. Each audition line is labled - if the line is labeled "Bob01", your file would end up yourname_bob01.mp3. Each line as listed in the auditions section starts with [XXX0X] - for example, [REIMU01] - list your line, therefor, as, for exapmle, Jeishii_Reimu01 or Jeishii_REIMU01.
If your file wasn't already saved as an mp3, convert the .wav to .mp3 format. If you are unable to do this, email or IM (LostSoulVampyre on AIM, vampyirc_seraphim@hotmail.com on MSN) me.
Create a .txt file containing the following information: Your Name, Your VA Name, Your email address, and alternate ways to contact you (such as AIM, MSN, etc). Optional information includes your resume or a link to it.
Zip your audition files and text file into a zip folder. You can lable it as you like, but something like Yourname Charactername(s) Auditions makes sense.
Email your auditions to me at liliumnoir at gmail.com (or alternatively, upload your files and email me a link to it). Your subject should reflect "BSSC AUDITION" or something similar.
TELL ME WHETHER OR NOT YOU'RE OKAY WITH ME POSTING YOUR CRITIQUES ON THIS BOARD. I'm too lazy to email you all individually. Although how that becomes less work is beyond me.

Auditions for opening/ending theme singers and character single singers will always be open. Not all of the cast is likely to want to sing the roles, nor be able to. I will also need chorus singers, etc.

I also am still willing to have help with music - I can't mix my own, and I would like some original music at some point. Not that it's likely!

PLEASE keep in mind t hat I'm being uber-critical with this as it's mah bebbeh. You're not going to see much here except criticism and praise when it's grand, also overall quality is looked at here.

If you REALLY DO NOT WANT a critique remember to let me know, and if you see yours here and want me to remove it let me know as well. I'll be critiquing all here. It's not to publicly embarrass anyone - I consider it fair game for everyone to know where they stand against everyone else so to speak so no one feels all akward and worried about it =3

If I say "you read this line wrong, this is how it should be read" - take that as a hint to re-send your auditions! I don't mind getting multiple sets =3 If I tell you your range is off, try again and if I reiterate a second time, that character may not be in your range!

I'll also suggest characters for you to try outa s well where I can. ^___^

Overall Quality - They were recorded with very low volume and some poufs. In the future just work on volume (turn up mic volume on computer) and try not to pouf =3

Ayanami Rei - Not quite as monotone as Rei. Not quite enough conviction for attacks and henshin. Overall lines were read well, but not 100% Rei-ish. Still a good attempt!

Utano Hikari - Again lacking conviction and power with Henshin/attack phrases (a theme throughout which I won't mention again). Scream was weak (which I understand, I'm the same way!). Singing wasn't too bad at all ^^ But not quite as light as Hikari's voice would be. Very cheerful for first line which was very great for Hikari, energy there was wonderful ^___^

Katsuragi Misato - Both lines read well, no big criticism here =3

Sohryu Asuka Langley - Got some of Asuka's fire in here, but needs a little more Asuka-ness. The first line is said in an oddly sexy manner XD ASuka's more likley to really be into her transformation and attack phrases - more power and energy as she kinda is an over-the-top girl.

Oisaki Reimu - I like the "Teruko... *snore* line particularly! Not quite as high as I'd visioned for Reimu-chan. The line with Japanese in it was good but ont quite 100% pronunciation-exact. It would be "ee-eh! (No!) Toh-gee koon wah eh-tch-chi (or eh-chi) dah! Yah-meh-roh!" (No! Toji (friendly term) is H/a pervert! Stop!)

hoshino Chibi Chibi - Again, voice not high enough. The part of Cosmos was well read, buta bit rushed, and not as mature-sounding as I'd visioned for her.

Overall Quality - VERY good quality! =3 I like. But the volume was reaaaaally low.

Ayanami Rei - I like your Rei. The tone and pace is good. I like the idea of reading the lines for transformation and attack more monotonous - she only really speaks with energy when talking to Gendou.

Singing Audition - I like your singing voice! And Beautiful is one of my fav songs. You have a very Broadway-type voice ^___^

Suggested Auditions - All other female characters XD Especially look at Hikari, Flame Butterfly when I post for her.

Sohryu Asuka Langley - You definatley sound haughty enough! Just a little too haughty at points, putting too much emphasis on the first syllable in some of the sentances. The attacks and Henshin phrase should also have been more powerful - Asuka practically shouts hers. But the acting itself was pretty good, and you have a fitting voice.

Young Asuka - Should have sounded a tad bit younger, but was good acting. I LOVED the MOMMY!! scream. =3 Very cute.

Kage no Shi Poor dear, I have such problems getting my original Kage out of my head ><

Your acting was strong, and I loved your "it hurt to hear you scream in pain" (there was something sexy about the emotion in that line! Kudos) line. But your line 01 was a little bit weak somehow. I think not quite as sultry as I was hoping, more cheesey evil guy. Thank you for pronouncing Yoruno Kage so well =3

Utano Hikari - Decently acted, but your auditions were too quite and puffy/staticy. I like your attack/henshin, just needs a tiny bit more power =3 And no singing audie?

Oisaki Reimu - Your "teru-chan.." line was a bit too singsong and puffy, but cute. And you're yet another person who read Iie (ee-eh, the Japanese word for NO!) as AIIEEE!!. Sokay =3

Utano Hikari - Your acting was wonderful, but not hikari. She's more softly spoken, her attacks wouldn't be shouted so (her attacks are based on music and power of voice, and if she yells them that way she'd break the eardrums of everyone nearby). Your singing is good but was an octave or two too low, but I liked it overall. ^___^

You should audition for Devil =3 And some other people once I get their character information up. Also, try to convert your wavs to mp3s. Wavs are okay but too big for me to transfer from Mom's comp to mine for now *nods*

Hoshino ChibiChibi - I LOVE your first line, VERY cutely done =3 You also did a good Cosmos. Your volume was a bit low, but still you did a great job. Your acting was also very well done =3

Ayanami Rei - Also did a good job here - again with low volume, but I find most recordings start out damn low. Your voice may be a little too deep naturally for Rei.

Singing for Rei - I like your singing voice, and you pronounce the Japanese words well. A bit off tune here and there, but that can be fixed.

Overall - very well rounded auditions. ^__^ I also glanced at your resume site, nicely done.

Suggetions: Audition for some of the older characters, and definately try out for Nightmare - I want to hear how you'd portray her.

The Crow

Kage no Shi/Yoruno Kage - Your acting was good, but the recording was so quiet, I could barely hear it. You have about the right vocal range. However, your pronunciation of Yoruno Kage was incorrect - that's kewl as it's fixable. If you want to re-send, it's pronounced "Yoh roo noh Kah geh" - it's not like cage, wherein you hold a bird.

Aida Kensuke - Heheheh, you make a good Kensuke here. Your pronunciation of Japanese was a lot better here, except for the "ne" in "kawaii yo ne" - remember, all e's in Japanese are pronounced like they have an H at the end - "eh". The "ee" sound is only gotten from the character for "i" which is prounced "ee" rather than "eye" or "ih". A = ah, I = ii, U = ooh, E= eh, O = Oh ^^ You also siad "kowaii yo ne" - you bascially said Mary-san was scary >D hehehe

Overall - quality was good, no real puffs or poufles. A bit low in the volume but that was quickly fixed.

Song for Asuka - Interesting song to use to show your Asuka voice. Nicely done. =3

Song for Hikari - A bit more jpop than I would expect for a song for Hikari as the audition as she's a very gentle person, but your pronunciation and singing were both good =3 Edit Actually, on retrospect, this is probably good auditionf or her since later on in life she becomes a JPop idol >D

Song for Rei - LOL! Phantom of the Opera... Megg... Very nice. Not quite what I had in mind for Rei's voice singing, but very cute ^___^

Hikari's Song - You have a very opera voice, I adore it. Again, not quite what I was thinking of for Hikari, but definately something to keep in mind throughout =3

ChibiChibi - Too forced high, but good acting.

Cosmos - VERY good acting, very much Cosmos-ish. Y ou tried to get TOO high for chibiChibi for your voice, but you did a good job here.

Utano Hikari - VERY well done. I enjoy your attack and henshin phrases. Your singing of her song here was a bit clearer as you didn't try to go quite as hiugh as well. Generally, good quality as well with your recording.

Katsuragi Misato - VERY well done!! I love your Misato voice here. Well acted.

Oisaki Reimu - Your falling asleep line was very cute, and you did a good job on the henshin and attack phrases as well.

OVERALL - VERY well done, well acted all around. You've improved in leaps and bounds, and you're doing a great job through and through. =3

Overall Quality - Recorded too quietly, but not too much poofs or similar problems.

Overall Acting - You acted a little flatly - I'd like to hear more emotion in your voice. You spoke for the light-voiced characters in too flat a tone, going for emotionless rather than soft. You spoke clearly, though, which is good. Your auditions for the males made me smile - you're too feminine to play any of the male roles though ;) That's a compliment by the way =3

I'm not going to break it down completely due to the sheer number of people you auditioned for.

Singing - your attempt at Hikari's Song was okay, but a bit off key and sounded a bit too high in your register for you.

Feel free to re-do and re-send any of your auditions =3

Aaaaah, I'm sorry about the wait *crycry*

Kage no Shi - VERY commanding and butch. A nice difference between Yoruno Kage and Kage no Shi - you did well in portraying the physical age difference they seem to have. As with auditions above, I'm spoiled on my original Kage (cry cry) but you did well here. What can I say, I gush, I'm just a silly little fan of yours at this point >D Possibly a bit TOO deep for Kage, but I still need more auditions for him to decide.

Aida - Hehehehe! So cute! You remind me a lot here of Otacon from Metal Gear Solid O.O I LOVE your "Gaaah!". Well acted and good quality.

Suzuhara Toji - A bit too deep for Toji, keeping in mind he's just a kid =3 More light like Aida, but less geeky, you know, would be better. But as usual, your acting was great here ^__^

Evangelion - Oooh, so cultured! Your first line made me grin. It was recorded a bit quieter than the rest oddly enough. The only flaw is - and this is kind of my fault for not explaining it well - is that rather than sounding like he's been jerked backwords, it's more an "urk" kind of, "Oh crap they just overheard me!" sound. Otherwise, very good on the first line.

The next two are very well done, very articulate and well-spoken. Very Eva-kun. Voice is a bit deeper than I imagined for Eva.

Sohryu Askua Langley - Slight pronunciation issue with Sohryu, but VERY uppity and Asuka-ish =3 Nice job on the henshin and attacks.

Young Asuka - CUTE first line, your "MOMMY!" terrified scream was good but a bit too old-sounding. Overall good.

ChibiChibi - UBER cute, I love your laugh on the IN-GU-RISH! line. ^__^

Sailorcosmos - A very good change from ChibiChibi, well acted. Overall mic quality could have been better and you need to try to be a bit further away from the mic. But overall well done.

Meiko - I may be removing this character, but I want you to know that your audition brought a grin to my face. WELL done =3

Ayanami Rei - No complaints here.

Reimu - You have a cute voice, which was helpful in this audition.

Overall - great job on the Henshin phrases and attacks, mic quality has a bit room for improvement, and overall good acting all around <3

Hoshino ChibiChibi - If I remember correctly (and don't trust me to do so) but I think it was you or another Rikka who was cast as ChibiChibi before. I like this audition from you as well. The voice doesn't sound too strained, although you can probably bring the pitch down a teensy bit. =3 Very well done overall.

Sailorcosmos - Very well done, emotional where she needs to be. I could definately feel the strength that Cosmos has in this. Good mic quality as well.

Kage no Shi - Yoruno Kage: Very distinct difference between voices. Very well done here. Yoruno Kage is between 5 and 10 years age difference, physically, so the lighter voice fit perfectly. I enjoyed your "Ohayooo! Yoruno Kage Desu!" line particularly :) It had a certain cuteness to it that I picture him showing when he can to hide his true nature.

Kage no Shi: VERY deep and demanding, even kind of seductive in a way. I loved the tone of your voice when you said "It's a bit early in your career as a pretty soldeir to die". It gave me teh chillz >D Very well spoken.

Kage no Shi (singing) - I am pretty sure you're the only guy to actually send me a singing clip. Your voice is very lovely, and definitely would fit well in a Kage character image song. WONDERFUL song choice for Kage no Shi as well.

Metallia - I loved your voice as Metallia here. You acted it well, very commanding. Only problem I can bring up is, you poufed into the microphone ;__; Other than that, very well done.

Nightmare - Again with the poofs, but similarly, you did a good job with the acting. You have the determination in your voice that Nightmare would have. I like how you sent different versions, it gave me a good idea of some of the depth of your acting which was nice to hear.

Overall, a good audition set. Just work on your microphone poofs. This can be done by staying further from the microphone, putting a tissue over it, and turning the recording volume down so it doesn't pick up as much. Mainly the first though >D

Reimu - Well acted. The "Teru-chan.. *snore*" line was very cute. No recording problems that I could hear. Not a whole lot of power in the attack and henshin phrases, but Reimu wouldn't be as enthusiastic as say, Asuka, so it was actually quite fine. =3

Thanks for your piclove XD The Cosmos one is one I did in colored pencil (and I have a lot of errors I missed like one boob being bigger than the other before doing the pen outline XD), and the rest are flash-with-photoshop =3 Some alterations will probably be done to Dream, and Rei's hair may grow longer while in Senshi mode than that... we'll see.. muaha.. muahahahahaha.. muaha *hack cough pain*

DA here happens to be my Akuma =3

In a nutshell, both Shinigami, Shinigami Kuuki, and Kair were taken out. They were characters created by/based on people I know IRL that I was using with permission. There was some personal stuff involved in PSSC, and after a lot of thought and nearly 6 - 7 months without touching the project, I decided to come back to it in full force and revamped. (Access to the original will still be accessible).

Tsukai and I are still friends but I decided it's just best to start fresh, especially since I removed SHinkuuki's main love-interest and because Kai was also created by Tsukai.

It kind of makes me sad because I actually won like first place and second place in various fields in SakCon's fanfiction contest for the first 4 chapters a while back :( But maybe I can resubmit the new one next year? XD

And sorry! ^^ Jeishii (renamed Teruko) is based on me, so I get to voice her XD

There are only 3 characters so far that are DEFINATELY retaining their original VAs - Jeishii/Teruko by me, Akuma by DA (as a favor &lt;3 and because I can bully him into doing the lines! XD), and a not-yet-introduced side-character that my friend Nida is going to voice because it's based on her. Just a guitar-toting weirdo in Juuban Highschool >)

And! Conan-san - Gendou will have an interesting part in this story, so when I get auditions set up for him feel free to try for it =3

Sohryu Asuka Langley - Got some of Asuka's fire in here, but needs a little more Asuka-ness. The first line is said in an oddly sexy manner XD ASuka's more likley to really be into her transformation and attack phrases - more power and energy as she kinda is an over-the-top girl.

Oisaki Reimu - I like the "Teruko... *snore* line particularly >w&lt; Not quite as high as I'd visioned for Reimu-chan. The line with Japanese in it was good but ont quite 100% pronunciation-exact. It would be "ee-eh! (No!) Toh-gee koon wah eh-tch-chi (or eh-chi) dah! Yah-meh-roh!" (No! Toji (friendly term) is H/a pervert! Stop!)

hoshino Chibi Chibi - Again, voice not high enough. The part of Cosmos was well read, buta bit rushed, and not as mature-sounding as I'd visioned for her.

Singing Audition - I like your singing voice! And Beautiful is one of my fav songs. You have a very Broadway-type voice ^___^

Young Asuka - Should have sounded a tad bit younger, but was good acting. I LOVED the MOMMY!! scream. =3 Very cute.

You should audition for Devil =3 And some other people once I get their character information up. Also, try to convert your wavs to mp3s. Wavs are okay but too big for me to transfer from Mom's comp to mine for now *nods*

Ayanami Rei - Also did a good job here - again with low volume, but I find most recordings start out damn low. Your voice may be a little too deep naturally for Rei.

Singing for Rei - I like your singing voice, and you pronounce the Japanese words well. A bit off tune here and there, but that can be fixed.

Overall - very well rounded auditions. ^__^ I also glanced at your resume site, nicely done.

Suggetions: Audition for some of the older characters, and definately try out for Nightmare - I want to hear how you'd portray her.

Kage no Shi/Yoruno Kage - Your acting was good, but the recording was so quiet, I could barely hear it. You have about the right vocal range. However, your pronunciation of Yoruno Kage was incorrect - that's kewl as it's fixable. If you want to re-send, it's pronounced "Yoh roo noh Kah geh" - it's not like cage, wherein you hold a bird.

Aida Kensuke - Heheheh, you make a good Kensuke here. Your pronunciation of Japanese was a lot better here, except for the "ne" in "kawaii yo ne" - remember, all e's in Japanese are pronouned the way you say the letter - ii/ee =3 Like "knee" ^^ You also siad "kowaii yo ne" - you bascially said Mary-san was scary >D hehehe

Overall - quality was good, no real puffs or poufles. A bit low in the volume but that was quickly fixed.

Hikari's Song - You have a very opera voice, I adore it. Again, not quite what I was thinking of for Hikari, but definately something to keep in mind throughout =3

ChibiChibi - Too forced high, but good acting.

Cosmos - VERY good acting, very much Cosmos-ish. Y ou tried to get TOO high for chibiChibi for your voice, but you did a good job here.

Utano Hikari - VERY well done. I enjoy your attack and henshin phrases. Your singing of her song here was a bit clearer as you didn't try to go quite as hiugh as well. Generally, good quality as well with your recording.

Katsuragi Misato - VERY well done!! I love your Misato voice here. Well acted.

Oisaki Reimu - Your falling asleep line was very cute, and you did a good job on the henshin and attack phrases as well.

OVERALL - VERY well done, well acted all around. You've improved in leaps and bounds, and you're doing a great job through and through. =3

Overall Acting - You acted a little flatly - I'd like to hear more emotion in your voice. You spoke for the light-voiced characters in too flat a tone, going for emotionless rather than soft. You spoke clearly, though, which is good. Your auditions for the males made me smile - you're too feminine to play any of the male roles though ;) That's a compliment by the way =3

I'm not going to break it down completely due to the sheer number of people you auditioned for.

Singing - your attempt at Hikari's Song was okay, but a bit off key and sounded a bit too high in your register for you.

Kage no Shi - VERY commanding and butch. A nice difference between Yoruno Kage and Kage no Shi - you did well in portraying the physical age difference they seem to have. As with auditions above, I'm spoiled on my original Kage (cry cry) but you did well here. What can I say, I gush, I'm just a silly little fan of yours at this point >D Possibly a bit TOO deep for Kage, but I still need more auditions for him to decide.

Aida - Hehehehe! So cute! You remind me a lot here of Otacon from Metal Gear Solid O.O I LOVE your "Gaaah!". Well acted and good quality.

Suzuhara Toji - A bit too deep for Toji, keeping in mind he's just a kid =3 More light like Aida, but less geeky, you know, would be better. But as usual, your acting was great here ^__^

"What is the deadline?"
Auditions don't have a deadline as of yet. Once I get the website redesign finished which may take another month, I'll have a definate deadline. For now, it's open form auditioning.

No. Everyone listed as open for audition at this time is just that, open for audition.

I've had a lot going on: was kicked out of my old apartment by my abusive ex boyfriend, moved to a place with shoddy internet, then moved to a new place with good internet where my computer still isn't hooked up to the network and it's been that way for 3 months now. I also JUST finished Chaper One and the script for Episode One's radio play version.

"Do you need a narrator?"
I did everything in my power to avoid need of a narrator, and it turned out pretty well. The script nearly matches the dialogue in the fanfic perfectly.

You can send likes other than the ones I have as well for each of the characters if you find them fitting (the Eva stock ones anyway), if you want to be able to do more. If you have a passionate speach by Asuka or even Misato you feel you can pull of really well and I don't have it up there because it's cannon Eva, feel free to record it and send it.

What I meant was, if you have a monologue or other lines you want to record for any of the characters (other than what I have up), you can record those too. For example, for Asuka, if you wanted you could do her bathtub speach from Evangelion and send that to me. It's not related at all to EnK, but because it's Asuka, it would work.

The same goes for all of the core Evangelion characters.

You can even do a monologue for Sailormoon from some point in the manga or anime, because if you're auditioning for Sailorcosmos, that's sort of what you're going for.

In short, I'm open to any form of audition you're willing to give me as long as it's in character with the person you're auditioning for.

Singing auditions are always loved as well ^^

Okay, so, one of the men dropped out - The Crow - so now I'm 2 men short for casting let alone auditiony goodness. I posted this stuff at FLAVA as well, although I think most of FLAVA is comprised of VAA people? I started out at FLAVA many many moons ago O.O

Overall Quality - They were recorded with very low volume and some poufs. In the future just work on volume (turn up mic volume on computer) and try not to pouf =3

Ayanami Rei - Not quite as monotone as Rei. Not quite enough conviction for attacks and henshin. Overall lines were read well, but not 100% Rei-ish. Still a good attempt!

Utano Hikari - Again lacking conviction and power with Henshin/attack phrases (a theme throughout which I won't mention again). Scream was weak (which I understand, I'm the same way!). Singing wasn't too bad at all ^^ But not quite as light as Hikari's voice would be. Very cheerful for first line which was very great for Hikari, energy there was wonderful ^___^

Katsuragi Misato - Both lines read well, no big criticism here =3

Sohryu Asuka Langley - Got some of Asuka's fire in here, but needs a little more Asuka-ness. The first line is said in an oddly sexy manner XD ASuka's more likley to really be into her transformation and attack phrases - more power and energy as she kinda is an over-the-top girl.

Oisaki Reimu - I like the "Teruko... *snore* line particularly! Not quite as high as I'd visioned for Reimu-chan. The line with Japanese in it was good but ont quite 100% pronunciation-exact. It would be "ee-eh! (No!) Toh-gee koon wah eh-tch-chi (or eh-chi) dah! Yah-meh-roh!" (No! Toji (friendly term) is H/a pervert! Stop!)

hoshino Chibi Chibi - Again, voice not high enough. The part of Cosmos was well read, buta bit rushed, and not as mature-sounding as I'd visioned for her.
