Would you rather have to do a character once and be done with it or have it be ongoing where you can reprise as the same character? AKA, short term or long term projects?

I believe the character must be interesting and enjoyable to play for me to continue without a second thought.
Also, you might want to re-edit the topic title

I don't care as long as the producer is good at what they're doing.

I prefer long-term projects. I actually really dislike it when I only have one shot at a character, especially if I have to wait a really long time before I hear what I did with him/it. I like being able to build on a character and have some time to work them out and get something solid set for them, as opposed to acting my butt off and hoping it works out in the end.

I don't mind reprising a character, as long as--like Y.Chang said--the producer is good at what they do and if I really like the character/the character is interesting.

I'd prefer being with the character long enough to flesh them out. I wouldn't feel like I actually played the character unless they've made some sort of progress or contribution, however small.
As for the length of projects, I like doing more than one clip but no more than an episode at a time, because I want to have time for other characters as well!

I tend to prefer long term projects with audio and short term with fandubs for some reason. I think it's because I'm so used to seeing long term fandubs being dropped. For audio projects (original mostly) I prefer long term because it gives me a chance to develop the character more, in fandubs the character has already been developed.
Also, I fixed the title for you. I hope you don't mind, Amby.

Long-term, since there is more opportunity to become emotionally connected to the character and the world that he/she inhabits.

I guess it really just depends on the character! There's nothing like getting to play a character you really love playing and get to keep doing it :)

As mentioned, I don't mind long term if the producer is good. However, due to very little recording time and the fact that I always end up giving up long-term roles, I prefer short term roles personally. As long as I can have at least a shot at voicing the character then I'm good. If it's a dream role and it's long term, then hellzyea [so long as I can get time to record].

If the role is interesting enough I'll continue voicing for that character.

I like being able to play a character for long periods of time so then I can get attached to the character and become them.
Having short appearances is pretty fun too, cause it gives you the chance to expand on the people you can play.

Like Y. Chang said, depends if the producers are good at what they do. It also depends on the character. If I enjoy the character or care enough to improve what I've done with the character first time, then I'll take that chance to reprise.

If the production is terrible and the character development isn't good... then yeah, I'll be done with it. Otherwise, I'll be happy to do another production as the same character.

Short-term.
I get bored with projects and often find it hard to commit to anything for too long.

Definately long-term. Gives you more time to really relish the character's development arc and involvement with the plot.

I am definitely thinking long-term, but there are things I would have to factor in. Whether or not I have fun doing the character (usually the case), how easy it is for me to get into character for her/him, and what my experience/relationship with the director and whomever else I would interact with is like. It's gotta be a fun or at least comfortable atmosphere for me if I'm gonna be coming back.
It would be really great to have a specific character that's mine, be 'the official voice of ____' ^^ .

The answer to this question, to me, depends on the character. If the character is fun to act as, than I'd like to come back and do more lines for the character as an ongoing role.
If the character is kind of bland and boring, or even perhaps more difficult to voice than I had anticipated, than I'd be okay with only doing the character once.
'Course, I've rarely done more than one episode, anyway. Even with a character that reappears, most productions I'm in tend to flop after one or two episodes. I don't think any production I've been in has ever survived past the second episode. :sweat
