Round the dry Thesaurus bones, The Catabooks come a crawling.
Through broad leafed bibliographies the Catabooks come a hauling.
On bended spines and pages creased, indexes sharpened for the feast,
the Catabooks come, the Catabooks come, the Catabooks come a crawling.....

Eerie. Good imagery for such a short poem. Normally I would say a poem of this length was too short but breaking off at that point works well as the person has the suspense of what they will do.

This line makes me cringe "indexes sharpened for the feast", good god, it reminds me of an unforgettable paper cut. I enjoyed the rythm. And.. I still dont get what the heck a catabook is, well.. I guess thats why it is nonsense then.

Clym, this was really cute. I didn't know you had it in you. :D
Then, I read the other posts and got the horror imagery of the book-monsters they were seeing in their heads. :?
From my personal opinion, I thought that Catabooks were readers preparing to 'feast on knowledge,' or ( at worst ) something like a caterpiller ( like the bookworm cartoons? ). Yeesh. "An imagination is a dangerous weapon."
Ah well, enough of that.
Good job, Clym. Your rythm was easy to follow and creativity fresh. 8)
