Hello. (:
I'm still working on this. There's a lot of things I need to fix/redo in this version, but I wanted to post this because I'm going to get a CD cover made for my demo, and while I have an idea of what I'd personally want it to look like...I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Nothing specific, but just what kind of visual metaphors can one make to my voice? Colors, food, animals, places, things...etc. We did something like this in my class where we told each other what we saw upon listening to his/her voice.
If you could crit (no need to mention the occasional fuzzy mic quality), that'd be wonderful. This is taking much longer than it should because of comp issues. D:
Anyways...

After having taken a voice-over class at school, I think that this is a great improvement from the first commercial demo I made earlier this year. I'm going to check in with my teacher to make sure it's all good and ready to go, before I start sending it out! (: In the meantime, tell me what you all think! Thanks!

Note: This is a work in progress, I'm gonna be changing it up for a while, until my teacher gives it the OK! lol

Wow I think this demo sounds very professional, have you thought about posting this on voices.com. When I clicked play I was blown away.

Mixing: I think the mixing was perfect, the length was great and you had excellent annotation. I would just suggest try getting some high range in there, maybe like a airhead, or a barbie commercial or a toys.

Overall this demo was excellent, You don't really hear demo's like this on VAA which very much suprised me.

Thank you for your comment! (:

I should also mention that this is a work in progress, so...I'm gonna be changing it around a lot until I get it perfectly perfected.

I love it. It's a very smooth pace throughout. However, that could count against you if potential clients are looking for variety. You should find a way to showcase more of your range, energy, and character playability.

I'm not a huge fan of there being a significant amount of talk-time for accompanying voices -- I would say not more than 1-3 seconds if you can help it. While hearing the commercial in its context is important, they're ultimately there to listen to the contours of your voice, and distracting them for even just a second too long could be what gets them to throw your demo in the trash. Keep it rolling and keep it quick.

Fantastic work. With some fine-tuning, this thing will be turning heads.

So gooooood.

As for visual metaphors.. definitely playing off your lower voice I get a sense of a dark blue or like a scarlet red color to kind of play up that sultriness, mysteriousness your lower range has. As for animal, I was think maybe a tiger, lioness, or even a wolf because you have that strong, independent woman kind of voice.

...I hope that helps D:

This was an amazing demo! Your voice is so versatile while still selling every product convincingly and professionally. And the mixing was top notch! As far as images go, perhaps something in the dark red to royal purple would look good. They're luxurious colors that convey warmth and elegance without being too gaudy. And they help evoke the richness of your lower range.

I came up with something here...! A "finished" demo...I need to burn CDs and send them out, before I change my mind and hate this, lol...

Oh my god THIS IS SO GOOD. Great variety of voices (really liked that small fast-talking section!) Soooo you're sending this out? Yes please. It sounds utterly amazing.

Not much else to say. I'm too busy staring in awe.
