Hi there! I'm a bit embarrassed, haha. I've never made a demo reel before and this is my very first one. Let's just say, I'll never really get the hang of mixing, haha, so it's pretty general ^^;; And I apologize for that.

So here is my first character reel (http://www.box.net/shared/fl47jakg6n)!

I'd love critiqued, since this is my first reel and I'm sure it needs tons of work. And it's okay to critique me, I promise not to attack you, haha. I love constructive criticism. <3

I'm also a believer in character interpretation instead of imitation. =) So I'd appreciate it if you didn't listen to this and say, "Well you didn't sound like so-and-so." Good! I hope not! ^^

Um, I tried to only put in the characters that I've been cast as, but a few of my audition lines for series not cast yet slipped in there because I liked them ^^;

The characters in the reel go in this order, in case you're interested:
- Rikku (Final Fantasy X-2)
- Young Akito (Fruits Basket)
- Tohru (Fruits Basket)
- Chief Kala (Master of Time)
- Rei Hino (Sailor Moon)
- Tifa Lockheart (Final Fantasy VII)
- Ash Ketcum (Pokemon)
- Young Malon (Zelda)
- Naoto (Persona 4)
- Vanille (Final Fantasy XIII)
- Ash Ketchum (Pokemon)
- Quistis (Final Fantasy VIII)

Critiques welcome! Oh man I'm nervous....^^;;;;;;;

You have a nice voice! You speak very clearly, it's pleasant to listen to. I'd like to hear more variation in your range... Try pushing it a little higher perhaps, because it was mostly all in the same medium-low range. However I think you also utilized different textures and ways of talking to add different character to the similar voice-pitches, so that's nice.
Your inflection and whatnot sounds very good =) I think doing more emotional lines would benefit you as well... angry, sad, etc. Those are some of the harder emotions to fake so it's good to display your ability to do them.

Out of all of them, the Quistis voice was my favorite. Your smooth voice works very well in the lower ranges.

Thank you so much for the critique! I'll keep all of that in mind whenever I start work on a new reel =)

I'd love some more feedback ^^ I won't bite, promise!

Your voice is very good! I'd like to see you do more higher voices I'd think you'd be great at them. Awesome job for your demo reel.

And big kudos on your Rei Hino soooo much better than mine haha!

I like the roles that you chose for this demo, and you do a great job at putting them in a good order to showcase the differences in each voice (rather than putting all the mediums, then all of the lows together, etc). I'll do a quick rundown of any suggestions I can think of.

Rikku: This sounded almost more in Yuna's or Paine's range. Rikku needs more of a chibi girly sound.
Young Akito: I liked the softness of this voice a lot.
Tohru: This sounds very natural.
Chief Kala: It showcased your lower range pretty well, although it didn't seem to convey much emotion.
Rei Hino: This was really close to the English VA for Rei. Very good job!
Tifa Lockheart: The music was getting close to overpowering the vocal. But I like the depth of the voice, even though I hadn't actually considered Tifa to be quite so deep.
Ash: Not bad at all.
Young Malon: This would be a good line to take up a bit more pitch-wise since she's a little girl. I liked the giggle though :D
Naoto: I'm not familiar with the original, but it sounds good? :)
Vanille: I haven't played 13 yet, but I hadn't realized that Vanille had a bit of an Aussie accent. I knew that Fang did though. I like the voice though.
Ash (redux): You should probably combine this with the first Ash. It was good though.
Quistis: I really liked the texture and tone of this voice. It sounded just right.

Thank you both for listening to my reel! ^^ And, I'm honored that Kae-chan thinks my Rei voice is good!!! Yay!! That made me happy.

So everyone thinks I should do higher voices, huh? ^^;; I guess I'll keep that in mind. And to do more deep ones like Quistis.

Thank you guys for helping me grow as an actor!

And ya know...keep me in mind if you ever need an actor X3

Yay critiques! Keep 'em coming! :D
