Mafia 210: Umineko no Naku Koro Ni Mafia
The year is 1986. Near death Kinzo, the head of the Ushiromiya family, has called for the annual family conference on his secluded island of Rekkenjima. Who knows what strange and ghastly events will happen in this isolated mansion, when you have a one-way ticket with no return voyage.
Note: All basic mafia rules apply. Check Matt's thread for those.
Rules:
1.) Game will run in Pacific time (I live in Hawii time, but to make it easier for everyone else)
2.) No role claiming
3.) Role Playing is high encouraged! (since veterans to the series might not know who the mafia are)
4.) No talking outside of the game unless your role explicitly says you can.
5.) Don’t ask if you’re dead, check the updated players list at the bottom
6.) If I accidentally don’t drop the hammer on time, just continue the discussion/voting
7.) Keep votes or unvotes bolded. "Vote: Jefferz because he's running his first mafia game!"
8.) Send all night actions in on time. If you miss the deadline and I don’t extend it, then your action is void.
9.) 2.0’s are allowed unless I run out of characters
Activity is highly encouraged, especially for certain roles. Communication is also very important, again for certain roles.

Okay. I'm going to explain what I did. I counted the number of people here, excluding myself from the list, as I do not want to die and I'm not going to vote for myself. I took out my orange d12 and rolled it. It landed on 7.

I have to agree with JusticeGuy here. While taking a no lynch does risk our own numbers, it still has the chance of getting Mafia. Now, do we attempt a random lynch on our own, or leave that up for our Mod? That is the question I would worry about now.

In any case, I think I would have to agree that perhaps we should just try someone at random first to see if anything comes of it. With a no lynch ticket, we might just wind up with nothing to go on from there. Who we should lynch, I am not sure though. If anyone is willing to go through a randomizer perhaps?

I understand the desire to select someone, it's only human nature. However, the method....It's simply too messy for me. There's no logic behind it, nothing to prove it worthwhile. The life of an innocent need not be spared for a reason as simple as desperation or fear for one's own life. Instead of blindly placing blame, we should wait and see if any new knowledge is brought into the light, if not, we could also choose our other option: to lynch no one. For the time being, I have chosen this path.

Randomly voting has just as much logic in it as voting no lynch. A no lynch spares everyone, but it gives the mafia the perfect opportunity to kill. And with that, Town is put on the defensive.
Doing a random lynch allows the town to at least have a chance at killing the mafia, as well as putting the mafia on the defensive, because it shows that we are ruthless in our search.
I can see why you would be afraid to do so. You don't want an innocent to die. But look at it from this point of view...regardless of what we do...an innocent will die.

Then factor in their partners who are silently throwing out their "randomly generated" choices. You aren't going to get a mob member today.

I do not feel that CrossFire should be lynched simply because of something trivial such as that. As you said, there's the possibility of him having a completely reasonable excuse for not being included on the list. I agree with the statement made by Kelsey Kay.

If even one innocent can be spared, why should we take their life unnecessarily? The logical thing to do would be to wait out the night and see if we can discover anything incriminating tomorrow.

Anxiety running high, the welcoming party turned ugly. "She's not on the guest list!" "She's guilty". Crossfire stood stoically as the family started voting for her. "Wait, it's the first day, we shouldn't make rash decisions" another person said. After a heated debate, the guests slowly left one by one to their own bedrooms to ponder over the recent series of events..
It is now Night 1. Night 1 will end somewhere between 12 and 1 am pacific time. Also for those who are at odd times due to time differences, I'll allow early night action submissions.

Early the next morning, all the guests are awakened by a shrill scream. Tearfully running down the hall from her room, Dabiu sobbed “Beatrice, Beatrice, Beatrice, save me!” Kennidy, one of the first up, calms Dabiu down and asks “what happened?”
Dabiu replied “I don’t want to stay here anymore! I was reading my book on magic when I heard a sound outside my door. Uuuu, when I opened to see who it was, all I heard was a big *Bang! *cries and cries, “Someone tried to shoot me Kennidy, I want to go home…”
Alarmed, Kennidy quickly roused the rest of the house. Repeating her story once again, Dabiu looked up and said”Uuuuu, where’s Uncle Elad?” The quickest, Crossfire ran up to Elad’s room to find the door ajar. There on the floor is Elad, brutally stabbed (although for lack of pictures, shot?).

Well, I read back and nothing seemed particularly off.
I'm only about to suggest this next thing to begin discussion. If someone can offer evidence as to why I could be wrong, I would be more than willing to take this back. JusticeGuy in particular seemed very keen to off someone. This could be because he really does have a, pun not intended, strong sense of justice, or because he simply wanted a chance to lessen the amount of townspeople to give the mafia an early advantage. Now, as I said it's just a theory to start discussion. It does seem to be grasping at straws though.
Or we can try to check if anyone was active after the hammer dropped. But if I remember correctly, there were quite a few people viewing the topic on or around that time.

Well, I suppose that it would be difficult this early in the game to discern anyone's innocence in the game, including my own. The most I can say for my defense is that I had ended up voting for No Lynch rather than voting for CrossFire, yet a few people were fairly adamant to see CrossFire lynched--something that I don't think many people would have been appreciative of as several people seem to trust her.

Although I know nothing about JusticeGuy's part in this game, I know a lot of people are really adament about this no lynches being bad nonsense. So while I think he's dead wrong, I don't think he's suspicious because of that.
As of now, the only suspicions I have are against Crossfire, Dabiu, and Sachiaka. Maybe the voice Sachiaka overheard is trying to frame Crossfire. Maybe Sachiaka herself is trying to frame Crossfire. I'm going to assume she's telling the truth, simply because I feel like people's personal feelings towards each other are being relied on far too heavily so far.
So perhaps Sachiaka is telling the truth. How do you and Dabiu know to trust Crossfire? Jefferz made it sound like anyone could be mafia in this game, so why not her? I understand you're friends and all, but this is, after all, just a game, and if any of you three turns up mafia, we're going to want to look into the others next.
Forgive me if I'm being rude, and jumping to conclusions, but I'm just eager for some explaination as to why you trust each other so much. And even yesterday, when there's no way you had anything but RP to go by.

Well, what Cake said earlier seems to have some merit, and I cannot come to any other conclusion than JusticeGuy is one of our villains. Essie's outburst was rather hectic, but she righted her mistake a moment ago, without anyone needing to claim some semblance of defense. As far as Sachi goes, I haven't heard enough from anyone or any theories to justify a conviction.
It fills me with great sorrow to be the creator of something that might harm the innocent, but if most of us want to live and see the scum wiped away, some risks must be take. So, I unfortunately have to Vote: JusticeGuy
If you can offer some defense for yourself, Justice, please do. It would ease my old heart to know that you are safe and have some information regarding our foes.

Hmm...I'm still not sure who raises the most suspicion now. While I did suggest the idea of JusticeGuy, I'm still not sold on the idea myself since the ground of suspicion isn't very solid. With the new knowledge Sachiaka has given us, CrossFire seems to be a possibility since she has the ability to kill, but as someone said it could simply be a defensive mechanism.

We're quickly running out of people. With 15 total slots, there should be 3 mafia. Starting with 13 makes it difficult to tell if a 2.0 should be mafia or not. I think we should avoid framing Sachiaka and JusticeGuy for now.
In a few minutes, I'm going to take a look back at what everyone has said. I'm confident that Sachiaka was telling the truth about Crossfire. If I was confident before, her death as a member of the town makes me even more so. And now, due to some things I found last night... I'm 98% sure Crossfire can kill. But it's still possible she's vigilante or something. I'll leave that to the rest of you.
I did discover some things about some of our dearly departed. That's why I'd like to take another look back. Give me a little bit, and I'll report back.

I'm not a fan of them, but if it comes down to it, I'd rather us use the remaining no lynch ticket than kill of another of our own based on coincidental evidence. I agree. We should probably avoid 2.0s for the moment. No one that has died has been mafia yet. That means the 1.0 pool is smaller and our chances of hitting a mafia is higher (than before) if we stick to the 1.0 pool (There's 10 people in the 1.0 pool)
I also believe Sachiaka. I don't think Sachiaka wanted to make it seem like CrossFire was a bad person. I don't have any reason to suspect her intentions, especially since she was townie.
Lastly, I am curious as to what you have found out on our dearly departed. And of course, if anyone else has any new information.

No one has really said much to explain their trust in Crossfire, despite several people coming adamantly to her defense. I'm not saying that I believe 100% that she is guilty or that she is innocent, but I'm curious as to why some people seem to believe that she's safe.
Jefferz hinted in the beginning that people familiar with the series wouldn't know who were mafia, so I don't think there's any value in trusting people based on their role play.

Sachiaka heard someone talking... I wonder if it was flavor text, or if someone actually said it... DUN DUN DUN. I believe that Sachiaka targeted JusticeGuy that night. Nothing happened to him, making Sachiaka safe. And his mother. Haha. Whoever she overheard was probably asking if she had the ability to kill. The different font in the post, plus the question mark tells me she copy pasted it. Regardless of this, I'm certain Crossfire can kill.
Xyk is also a bit suspicious in this. He started the lynch on JusticeGuy, even though he knew that it was only JusticeGuy's hate of the ticket that caused his thirst for blood. >D

Okay, so let's try to sort this out. George's killer will NOT walk free.
As for Bree, she hasn't been particularly active (which she says is because of tests, which I don't doubt since I know its finals week for a lot of people). She could still be in the mafia, though not actively putting her hand into it for IRL reasons at the mo. Her automatic trust in CrossFire could definitely be seen as a bit suspicious but I'd like to hear her input before outwardly accusing her.
CrossFire has the ability to kill, we know this, but as has been pointed out it could be more of a situational ability or she could be a vigilante, serial killier, mafia, or whathaveyou. CrossFire also stated she knew who to suspect early on, indicating, much like Bree early knowledge that she possibly shouldn't have so soon. Still, I might venture to say she's the least suspicious of the 3 in question, all things considered. We don't want to lynch another possible townee with powers.
Dabiu, imo, seems to be the most in question. Her last minute voting of Sachiaka just seemed resulting in the double lynch just seems too convenient to be on a mere playful whim, considering that she managed to kill the town spy in one fell swoop. I'd like to hear if she has anymore defense regarding this though.
As for Xyk, I agree there's definitely something suspicious about his sudden disappearance. This could be attributed to him perhaps running off, but maybe we should also consider the idea that he was threatened or something like that. I'm not saying anything against or for him--just putting the possibilities out there.

I agree that the conviction of Dabiu isn't completely a fool proof argument and I am still a bit on the fence, considering that, yes, she is a child and her behavior can possibly be attributed to a character trait she's required to play out, but she does raise a certain degree of suspicion.

I simply put a vote out for Justice due to him being the only one anyone attempted to make a connection on. Since no one else took initiative, I did. I offered to take the vote back if anyone could prove his innocence. Had the argument that was provided against JusticeGuy had been contended, or even offered for someone else, my vote would have gone along with who was the most guilty. I truly do regret that he was town, and wish that someone had been able to offer up any sort of defense on his behalf.

I really have no leads. Sorry to be so helpless when it comes to all of this, but I have to say that I am suspicious of Bree and Crossfire. Not really Xyk so much just because he has been helpful most of the time, and very active. Since he has been active and not a lot of killing has gone on at night, plus the fact that he was knocked out the night before makes me feel a little bit safer about him.
It isn't that I know much of anything, I just trust Crossfire! *blushes* Why would he do such a thing? I really havbe no leads though. But, how do we know he has an ability to kill?

It was me, yes. And I know everything that went on surrounding Sachiaka that night. She followed our dear Battler, only to hear him asking someone if Crossfire could kill. (Hence the question mark.) Sachiaka wasn't sure that Cross could kill, because neither was JusticeGuy. So I looked into it myself, and got the same answer Battler did.
I do have a theory I'd like to test about the absense of a kill last night, and it's already been put into motion. The less I reveal, the better.

I think I may have an answer as to why bree is saying that crossfire is cleared. It's because they are the cleaning crew, and masons. It's just a theory, but it's one that I think makes a bit of sense.
As for who to vote for...I'm not sure. I don't think we can say it's Crossfire just because she can kill. Although, I do find that suspicious in itself, so Finger of Suspicion:Crossfire. I'm also suspicious of Xyk, but as for now, that can be put on hold.

I completely agree with IntoRapture. Even if she is a vigilante, she hasn't done much good for us yet. And what's to say she doesn't find me suspicious and kill me? Just because she's a vigilante doesn't make town immune to her kills. A kill is a kill. And kills are dangerous when put in the hands of a single person.
Alright. So I'm in the process of going back on the thread and seeing if I notice anything else because Kelsey's right: there's some people we don't know very much about. It's true that Bree, Cross, and Xyk are all suspicious but I really doubt they are all mafia.
I also agree with Intro. With a killing ability, there are more chances that Cross' role is a villainous one rather than a townie one. So I'll vote: CrossFire. With no no-lynch tickets left, this is strongest chance we have I think.
We have three choices:
1. Lynching Cross
2. Lynching Bree or Xyk
3. Leaving it up to the mod (random lynch)
I currently think the case on Bree and Xyk are weak compared to the case on CrossFire. And of course, leaving this up to random lynch at this point is extremely risky.

I can tell you that I'm only here to serve all of you. I do have a killing ability but I can't use it nor do I want to [OOC: which is why I really haven't voted for anyone yet because I don't have a lead.] I don't want anyone to die, but if I have to die because of it...then I'm going down fighting. Just know that if I die...it won't be a great loss....I'm nothing of interest....I'm just a piece of furniture....

I think I may have an answer as to why bree is saying that crossfire is cleared. It's because they are the cleaning crew, and masons. It's just a theory, but it's one that I think makes a bit of sense.
As for who to vote for...I'm not sure. I don't think we can say it's Crossfire just because she can kill. Although, I do find that suspicious in itself, so Finger of Suspicion:Crossfire. I'm also suspicious of Xyk, but as for now, that can be put on hold.

I completely agree with IntoRapture. Even if she is a vigilante, she hasn't done much good for us yet. And what's to say she doesn't find me suspicious and kill me? Just because she's a vigilante doesn't make town immune to her kills. A kill is a kill. And kills are dangerous when put in the hands of a single person.

Then there's Xyk. He was knocked out but claimed it was because he was kidnapped or something? To be honest, there isn't much reason to doubt his story unless someone else was able to spy it happening. He did vote for JusticeGuy before though and we all know how awesome that turned out. :|

In that case...hmmm. Al a mode was inactive around the time that mafia didn't kill, but as said before this can because of a roleblock and not inactivity. She has been lying fairly low for the whole game though, possibly trying not to draw attention to herself, but again this could be chalked up to real life circumstances as well...
Uuu.. you're suspecting the same old people, and Dabiu has noticed that the people that everyone seems to be suspecting turns out to be one of the good guys. Uu Uu. Why not try to take a shot at someone who does not seem suspicious because it seems to Dabiu that the bad guys are playing innocent and always seeming to take part in voting ... uuu.. I'm going to Vote: A la mode. She wasn't active the night of no kills and honestly I'm not getting an innocent plead or a a guilty one from her. Honestly its just a hunch but at this point in the game...a hunch is better than nothing at all.

Hmm...I do agree that al a mode is a possibility, and she's someone we haven't really been looking toward at all--most likely since she's been lying so low throughout the game.
I just read back a little. We haven't said much about IntoRapture and I noticed that a lot of her posts seem to be her bringing up or trying to pin the blame on CrossFire throughout, and we know that CrossFire ended up being town, finally with her starting the vote against her last time. Of course, this could just be normal suspicion, but I thought it was worth mentioning at least. I'm not saying I accuse her of anything just yet.
