It has come to the staff's attention that there has recently been a rather large increase in members with mutli accounts on the same IP address...
Now, we understand that people living in the same household, sharing the same computer, want to have individual accounts. That is totally fine. That kind of activity doesn't set off any red flags.
It's those signing up with one name, then deciding they want a different name so they sign up for a second account. Then they decide they want a name for a production studio so they sign up for a third account. But they used an underscore rather then a space and they really, REALLY want a space so they make a FOURTH account....
What people are not realizing is in doing this, they are triggering the built in spambot prevention software on the board. It flags all your accounts as potential threats and places them in a group were NONE of them can be accessed.
Everyone gets ONE account.
Please, do not make multi-accounts for yourself. Especially for your production companies. That is what we have social groups and producer blogs for.
So before you go and sign up for another account folks, please read these helpful hints and tips on the alternatives:
---If you want a different name, please contact either myself (Amby Leigh), Erica, or Matt Alan. PM or AIM preferred. We can change the name on your account without you needing to sign up for an entirely new one. You will also be able to keep your activity to date this way. Please note that you may not have a name already in use.
---If you want a place for posting information on your production studio, you have the choice to either start up a Social Group (http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/group.php) or PM an Admin for a Producer's Blog (http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/showthread.php?t=34953).
Once again, please consider the alternatives before taking action that might get you mistaken for a potential spambot and you accounts placed in limbo. It'll save both you and the staff unnecessary troubles.
Thank you
