FINAL FANTASY DISSIDIA INTRO: FINAL MIX


My headphones like to mess with my head. So I can't tell if they are adjusted on same level or not. *Most likely not*


Well, I'm not so sure I'm proud of this turn out, but at least I got it done and out of the way. I just felt like mixing a random intro scene and this was here, so why not.


Forty-Eight layers and six hours of labour. It took so long because I had to search very hard for the right effects.


Used Sony Vegas 9.0, Adobe Audition, sfx from personal library, VAA, and soundsnap.


Thanks to Mongtsatsa for a few metal sfx that I had searched for! As well as Ovarku for sending in his lines fairly quickly! =D

Ok, was able to watch it. Had to grab some headphones to listen to myself, because without them, I sound like I was endorsing Chanel, due to feeling like i'm whispering, telling people that you could smell like harmony or discord with a perfume coming to the market.

What the heck, why did you take the original video and claim it as your own mixing? That's really low. =/

JK this stuff is amazing, just like everything else you come out with! If I didn't know any better I would've thought this was the absolute real thing. The only nitpick I have is that some sound effects had more prominance than others; the magic sound effects were loud and clear, but the footsteps and other foley were barely audible over the music. But that's really minor; you are a crazy skilled mixer! I love how you make the world a bit better with the stuff you treat us. X3

Deep enough and wise enough sounding, but I think you sounded a bit too much like you were informing a bunch of troops quietly about an incoming enemy, rather than an old man telling a story. Which is fine its a cool take, just a bit different thats all. Maybe not quite so breathy next time (like you can be breathy but don't it be overpowering).

Idk I liked it at the very least, just keep practicing with that type of voice a bit more so you can grow more comfortable with it~

Kuro, what can I say - stunning mixing ;D. Seriously impressive stuff. You even managed to get the more obscure sounds spot on. I was listening with headphones so I may have to give another listen through the loudspeakers to check the volume balances, but it sounded perfect to me.

Ovarku, always good to hear you in more ^^. I really will have to find something to cast you in.
Anyway, I would say it felt like the phrases could breathe a bit more; it was spoken in a slightly snappy way. Like the phrase "Cosmos and Chaos were of equal strength. It was believed the conflict would last forever" - the words 'equal' and "it was" got run over a bit. The voice itself reminded me somewhat of Crispin Freeman meets David Hayter hehe.
